Remington Peck was terrific last night and literally took this game over on both ends of the court. When Peck wasn't knocking down contested jumpers, he was rebounding and blocking shots at the other end of the court.
Props go out to Riverton as well. In years past they would would have rolled over and died, but Galley has this team believing and they no longer fear their biggest rival. They're bigs are solid and well coached. Friel is a gamer, and their gaurds are above average defenders.
Coach Stu Morrill was at the game evaluating Ben Clifford, but after Peck's effort last night, he had to come away impressed with BYU's most recent football signee.
Great effort by both teams and here's hoping you bump heads again, at the E Center, in March. In the mean time Riverton is going to have to give up their preferred seating at the Pie Pizzaria. Who knows the way this rivalry has been going lately, they may get it back sooner than anyone expected.
Thanks for the memory REM! What an effort! This one will remained etched in my minds eye for a long time coming.
The south end of the Salt Lake valley is fortunate to have two basketball programs that are just that, programs. Throw in WJ and that makes three. Each of these programs are a tribute to their respective head coaches, Galley, Dubach and Briggs.
Continued success.
it was fun to watch you miners! way the sweep the siverwolves! sophmores did well, jv dominated, and varsity pulled out a good one. Great job!
I have really enjoyed watching Rem play football and basketball for the last couple years. He has always been a smart player. BYU is getting a great athlete that has the ability to play a couple different positions.
His basketball skills speak for themselves. Inside, outside and a great passer.
If Bingham continues improving I look for a Bingham - Lone Peak final.
Riverton's weak sauce trust me.
The 2 games played by these 2 teams have represented all that is good about high school sports. Great atmosphere at both schools. Student cheering sections yelling their hearts out for their schools but still showing respect for the opposing team. The players themselves putting it all on the line for the love of competing for their schools and respective communities. In both games these young athletes made several great plays to aid the cause of their team. Two teams that are very well coached. Both Coaching Staffs that even in the heat of competition against a fierce rival displayed good sportsmanship. In the end both teams lining up and shaking hands. Gracious in victory or defeat.
The Girl's Bball games displayed the same.
Props to Bingham and Riverton....That was a battle between to very strong teams. That was one of the best battles I have seen in years and both schools have awesome athletes
Curious so see photos of the star of the article... but of the 11 photos none were of the person the article was about.
two photos have Rem in them. He is #44.
WTSM what the heck are you talking about? weak? you serious? hows that
bingham is hot right now and if they keep it up at the end of the season they will have a rock on there finger. you cant beat a team that is shooting 14 for 19 from behind the ark.
