It renews my faith in human nature. I know Julio did the right thing in turning the money in to proper authorities but I was hoping he would get a small reward.

Great story! It's nice to see there are still honest people out there!

Michelle

This is a great story!! I want to read more stories like these in the news!!

surprised

some guy returned over a thousand dollars? that's rich.

Dodge Ram Driving Republican

Anyone who leaves 1200 dollars lying about certainly deserves to lose it, I'm afraid to say.

Way to go

Props to Mr. Venegas. Your employer is lucky to have such an employee.

quit ramming yourself

He didn't "leave it lying around" he dropped it. And we are all glad that Mr. Venegas sees things differently than you.

Awesome!

Julio Venegas is cool!

This is a great story!

Julio is #1

This kid is great! I'd hire him in a minute. That is integrity!

a yankees fan would've kept the money! go red sox! go julio!!

Oh Chevron

My Grandfather used to own that store awhile ago! Its nice to know that things have not changed much. Employees are still honest hard working people

Hooray for Julio!

Hooray for Mr. Venegas! I saw this story on the news last night and was very impressed with this man's integrity. If only there could be more of his kind out there...What a great lesson for all of us to learn from!

And a happy ending, too!

Honesty....

is the best policy. Way to go Julio and Shannon, looks like you've got yourself a wonderful employee of the highest intergrity. Keep an eye on him good, for I might tempt him to come work for me in the future....

I hope that some sort of reward was given to that honest man, thats what would make this a truely great story!

ALL AMERICAN HAWK

I HAD SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPEN IN L.A. 30 YEARS AGO.
I WAS OUT ON A DATE AT A MINIATURE GOLF COURSE IN
DOWNEY,CA.WE PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT AND I OPENED THE DOOR AND FOUND A WALLET LYING ON THE GROUND.THERE WAS NO ID AND HAD $2,000.00 IN CASH IN
IT.WE SOUGHT OUT THE MANAGER AND TURNED IT OVER TO HIM.AT THE END OF OUR ROUND THE MANAGER WAS WAITING FOR US WITH AN OLDER FELLOW.HE WAS THE ONE WHO LOST
THE WALLET.HE REWARDED US BY GIVING US $100.00 EACH.
GOOD CALL,JULIO!

Charles U. Farley

I'm sure this story would have turned out differently if Julio were a Yankees instead of Red Sox fan. Go Sox!

No Monetary Reward

I think the lack of monetary reward makes the story even better. His full reward is peace of mind, clear consciience, and integrity...things money can't bring.

awh

Great story. I am so glad to read about someone who is honest. Way to go young man.

George

Give the boy a raise. I'll be sure to stop at this station when I am in town.
