I really think it's time to get Chris Seitz in the goal. This guy will be one of the top keepers in the leage when he's given a shot.

I agree with Steve-O! Rimando is too short.

I think that we should give Seitz a couple games this year to see what he can do. I don't think that he should be our starting goal keeper.

First if Chris Seitz becomes a top keeper in MLS is not a sure thing, but he has talent.

We currently have a top 5 keeper in MLS, and why people are focused on his height is just stupid. He has a MLS Championship Ring from United, and got us to the Western Conference Finals.

Seitz will suffer from the death of the reserve division, since he will get little actual match time. I don't think you can pull Rimando who was the only good thing in the 2007 season, and had a very good 2008 for a unproven keeper.

Rimando has saved our butts on SO many occasions! He's a great keeper! If it isn't broke, don't fix it. I'm not dogging on Seitz, he's awesome, but go with what you know works. GO MIGHTY MOUSE RIMANDO!!!

I agree with f4denz. Rimando has been a really good keeper for us. I don't care if you're 4'-nothing! If you can get the job done then who cares? And Nicky has proved that he can do that. They say keepers reach their prime a little later than other players and I suspect that he still has quite a bit left in the tank. However, the staff needs to decide if Seitz is our future or not, if he is then he needs to start being incorporated with the first team, even if it is very limited playing time. This is the approach that I suspect the staff will take.

I like Rimando. He does tend to get beat if a player is able to place the ball high in a top corner. I can think of about two or three players in the league who can conciously place their shot there, so I don't worry about it too much.

But the guy isn't going to get any better and we all know Seitz has him by like 5 inches and in the talent department. We should go every other game with these 2 until Seitz can do it full time.

Why do people talk about size? Who cares!? Rimando is a better keeper so you play the better keeper. Do you want RSL to win?
Re: Anonymous | 12:14 p.m. Feb. 6, 2009
because it makes a big difference for a keeper. Seitz can block out goals into the far corners because he is taller and has a bigger wingspan. The only advantage Rimando has is experience. It's not that we hate Rimando. I think I speak for most RSL fans when I say we really, really, really appreciate what he has helped the team do. But you need a keeper that can block shots at all parts of the goal.

I am a huge fan of Seitz, I played with a couple of times throughout my youth career and I really like the guy- a great keeper.

But fact of the matter is, Rimando was solid last year and made a number of key saves. Every article from every game seemed to reference is game saving performances.

Can't hate the guy for doing his job, even if the future of US goalkeeping is sitting on the bench.

We need to bring back Scott Garlick! He was as good as Rimando and Seitz combined!
Re:Garlick | 11:18 a.m. Feb. 9, 2009
And older than all of them, their kids, and their pets combined.
Garlick | 4:24 p.m. Feb. 9, 2009
He actually is still with the REAL organization, he helps with the goalies.
Who was the keeper th first year | 10:08 a.m. Feb. 10, 2009
Bring that guy back. Girls seemed to love him

DJ Countess.

So, if girls love them, then we should get them? Would be an interesting way to build a team.
