Hey Riesen

Actually the Republicans are not getting into the private life of that woman any more than she is getting into the private life of the baby she is killing.

All that is happening is the baby gets to speak up and say I would rather not be vaccumed and torn into pieces and ripped from my mothers womb.

My guess is, if the baby had a CHOICE, like you say it is so important for the mother to have, then my guess is the babies would like NOT choose death.

Fair is fair.

The convenience killing should stop. How many women really get pregnant if they are taking appropriate measures to prevent it? Not many.

In this economy, why spend Utah's money fighting to overturn Roe v Wade? Any law passed would have to be defended all the way up to the Supreme Court, costing millions upon millions of dollars.

Passing unconstitutional bills is not what we elect these (non)representatives to do. Why waste money trying to defend this undefendable bill? What a pathetic waste of space our legislature has become.

Over 90% of women who have an abortion do not see the doctor until they laying down on the table. This is not a decision made between a woman and her doctor.

Jeffrey

Once again Utah legislators prove how incredibly out of touch and self-righteous they are.

The economy is in shambles, jobs are being lost, education budgets are being cut, and government assistance programs are hurting.

So what do Utah legislators spend their time? Trying again for the umpteenth time to overturn a ruling that has been upheld time and time again.

It's a waste of time, it's a waste of money, and it's offensive to a Utah population that needs their legislature to work for them!

Get off it, legislators, and start doing something productive for the state for once.

I can't tell if it's Daw that doesn't make sense with his apple argument, or if the DNews writer garbled the whole thing. If Daw can make an intelligible argument, let's hear it. If not, shut up.

Women give up the right!

A woman gives up her right to decide when she has intercouse. At the point of conception she is now making the decision about someone else's life. Unless there are health issues no one should make a decision about whether someone else lives or dies that is not a juror.

For Life

A Woman's life is to create Life!

There should be no pregnancy prevention - that is against CHRIST!

The Mormon Church is not a Christian Church because they support all those pro-choice beliefs!

It is better that a Women be forced to have the life, (to give life) then to end it. There are no reasons for any birth control measures be allowed in this Christian Country. Women are here to give life.

Support the Pro-life Movement!

The free market solution

What a business opportunity. Open a clinics in Wendover, Grand Junction and Mesquite. Even provide transportation to and from these clinics. For the upper crust women she can fly to London where she can receive an abortion and shop while she's in London. For the young beach lover, here's sunny Mexico.

Gays in California could donate money for air fare from SLC to San Francisco and transportation to a clinic. Mormons showed them the power of donations.

Ah, yet again... How funny it is to watch a bunch of old, white men decide what a woman can do with her body.

Wait, did I say funny? I meant ridiculous.

"Over 90% of women who have an abortion do not see the doctor until they laying down on the table. This is not a decision made between a woman and her doctor."

Over 90% of statistics are made up on the spot.

@For Life

What the heck have you been smoking ?

You really REALLY need to do some research if you think that the LDS faith advocates "Pro Choice".

Also, give up on the old beaten horse of "LDS aren't Christians!" its been proven time and time again that they are.

To RyanC

A separate individual with it's own heart, brain, nervous system, feet etc. is not part of a woman's body.

If you honestly believe that, then when is a baby not part of a woman's body? Is it when the last big toe leaves the birth canal? Is it when the cord is cut? Tell me.

@RyanC

Lets take your argument a step further. A Woman gets pregnant and decides to keep the baby. She then sues the father for child support.

Why should the father have to pay child support ? After all it was the woman's choice NOT to have an abortion. Why should the father be punished for the mothers behavior ?

Whats that ? One has to take responsibility for ones actions ?

Thank you for making my argument against abortion.

Mike

Actually, there is a good argument that these bills are constitutional. Especially given the current makeup of the court. They are not undue restrictions.

Also, to "the free market solution," I'm not sure most women would travel to Wendover just to avoid hearing their doctor notify them about pain relievers for the fetus they are planning to kill. The bill doesn't prevent the abortion.

DL

When will the pro-abortion folks give up the "my body, my right" argument. It makes no sense what so over. It is not your body that is getting chopped up, vacuumed-up and tossed!

uh... excuse me

LDS aren't Christians... is correct. When I was growing up in Utah County every single Mormon tried to convert me to Mormonism. They would tell me they were not Christians, but better than that.

Then the spin doctors of the Mormon church got together and decided that the only way they could continue to grow in members was to become... Christians.

Yah can't fool us. You are not Christians. Go to any library and pull off the older books that the spin doctors for the church have not gotten to and you will see and read about cults and there in big bold print will be Mormons.

oh......... just be Mormons will yah and let Christ and Christians be who they are: Christians.

RyanC

You missed the point entirely. Lets try this again: I find it ridiculous, silly, laughable, and just plain stupid that old, white men are making the decision of what a woman can and cannot do when it comes to how she manages her body and her health care.

Here's an idea: learn to mind your own business, keep your nose stuck in your own life, keep your finger pointed at your own face, etc., etc., etc.

To: For Life

The logical extension of your argument (if one can call screeching an argument), is that women should be constantly trying to get pregnant, and do nothing other attempt to get pregnant until their child bearing years end. There is so much more to life than pregnancy and childbirth. There is responsibly raising your offsprint, leaning, contributing to the knowledge or general welfare of society, enjoying relationships, enjoying this awesome planet, developing talents and sharing them, etc. etc. etc. Thank heaven most women (and men!) are more enlightened than this silly comment would indicate. Comments like this are degrading to women.

Contraception is a wonderful, modern tool that allows a couple to make choices about their lives that are consistent with the couples desires, capabilities, resources, values, etc. Thank heaven for the knowledge and technology that continues to enhance life, including contraception. If your values are to have as many children as you possibly can, your choice not to use contraception is just that - your choice. But don't assume that choice is good, reasonable or right for someone else.
