What a great letter from someone who has recognized all the best things that exist in Utah. Certainly there are many.

Cliff

It was a pleasure to work with Edward, too. He is a classy, talented performer, and fun to work with as well.

Many transplant non-LDS, such as myself, appreciate the neighborly lively, good-hearted, talented poeple of Utah, we are privileged to live among.

Mr. Herrmann...You are the best!

The Christmas Concert this year was one of the best I have ever attended, and Mr. Herrmann, you did far more than "bring up the rear"! Your readings were wonderful and I was touched with the tributes at the end of the concert, as I could tell you were too.

Carol

We worked with Guest Services during all four performances of the Christmas concert. Mr. Hermann's gift for story telling brought tears to my eyes each time. Thank you for sharing your talents with the people of Utah.

Anonymous

Good to see there are still some good Mormons left.

Ernest T. Bass

In Utah we love having outsiders stoke our egos. We are fragile and need outsider's compliments to help us feel normal.
Thank you!

More of the same

More of the same daily rhetoric from Ernest T. Bass and Anonymous I see.

They're always good for a negative comment to help divide people. Hmmm.... And they complain about Conservatives being divisive and negative.

It's amazing they can even try to turn a complementary letter like this into a negative. Just amazing.

Jud

Edward Hermann, we should return the compliment. I have enjoyed your acting for a long time, and particularly remember your portrayal of FDR in "Eleanor and Franklin." It was the performance of a lifetime.
Thank you for coming.

Refreshing

I appreciate the fact that Mr. Herrmann took the time to write this! In reading it, I felt I had stepped back in time to when almost everyone was this nice. What a classy gentleman!

I wish I had been there to see this particular performance. Sounds like I missed something really special.

Good job Mr. Herrmann. Thanks!

Rob

I have always enjoyed Mr. Herrmann's work. He is a classy person.

Matt

Thank you, Mr. Herrmann. We were glad to have you here.

I also hope we have more filming of good movies in Utah. But I also hope the Governor's office doesn't give out more "incentives" for them to come. Our "social/human capital" should be enough to convince people to come here without unfairly distributing tax dollars to specific companies.

Chark

Mr. Herrmann thank you for being so gracious in expressing yourself. Let us hope you will be part of more movie making in Utah.
As for the human capital being enough, we have fantastic scenery here and incredible crews, but in order to compete with other states who have the same an incentive is often the make or break in making a movie here.
The great thing about what Utah does though is that not a cent is given in an incentive until a dollar is spent here, therefore it's post performance and the taxpayer is not left hanging.
Again, Mr. Herrmann, hope to see you again soon in Utah.

AE

Thanks Mr. Herrmann. I loved your work in Gilmore Girls!

Such class

The letter writer shows such class in his complement. But then Anonymous and ETB have to use even this complement to take a jab at Utahns and Mormons? Figures. They can't stand for anything positive to be said about these 2 groups and let it go unchallenged.

I'd hate to be in their shoes. Reading the DMN daily on the lookout for anything positive said about Utah or Mormons so they can shoot it down or in some way try to contradict it or put it's validity into question.

Why would they feel the need to comment on this topic if they don't have anything to add but a little snark at their favorite groups? Guess it's just part of their nature.

JCS

I was a student at Dixie College and working evenings at the large hotel where the cast for Harry's War stayed while filming in the St. George area. Mr. Herrmann was so friendly, pleasant and down to earth. Now I understand why he was so happy during his stay in St. George. He met his wife there!

Nancy Mahler

Mr. Herrmann the pleasure was ours!! Every year Mac Christenson out does himself with what he bring to us. Im not sure if he can top this one, but if anyone can, hes the guy to do it. To have you and Brian Stokes Mitchell along with the Tabernacle Choir was a joy. The night was magical, what a great gift you all gave us.

Cats

To Ernest T. Bass and Anonymous 8:38: It must be really hard to be as unhappy as you are.

A Satisfied Utahn

Kudos to you too Mr. Herrmann! Your performance touched us just as ours did you. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

To Mr. Bass and Annonymous - too bad you both can't appreciate the uniqueness of Utah. Remember no one's keeping you here, feel free to move where you'd feel more comfortable--or is there such a place.

A Canadian living in Roanoke, VA

As usual the performance was wonderful-we are so fortunate to have such great actors, as Mr. Herrmann, perform with the choir. Thank you so much for your time and talent it was very much appreciated.
