At this rate we will get a first round
draft pic. (to be traded away of course)
"Kirilenko, who missed two games in early December with the same injury, had been hoping to postpone surgery until the offseason."
Can anyone name one injury that Boozer has played through... all I recall is he spends more time in LA in the winter then in Utah. Didn't he just get back a just recently?
But I am grateful to Boozer because Millsap has stepped up and proven can play when given the opportunity. Now the often injured Boozer should be traded before he walks away this summer.
Ak says, he could get surgery now or at the end of the season, so what is he going to do, get it now of course. Why not, boozer did it. Ak is going to try to get away with as much as boozer, he thinks he's as good as boozer, but he's not; besides, boozer isn't someone you want to be like. If ak goes through with the surgery, i'm going to have to think he's a me first player. I already question his passion to play the game every night.
If there is any guy on the jazz who needs a rest, it's millsap, that guy is more banged up; and it's pretty obvious. Millsap has a legitimate injury concern, but he's doing what his duty is, he's playing. Dwill is another warrior, he tried to come back too early, and it's toughest to have to watch the team struggle, and the jazz get knocked around, and there isn't any reinforcements on the way, because of bone chips? If they pulled an mri on millsaps knee, or dwills ankle, they'd find a million bone chips.
Hey "I'm not surprised". How have the jazz been doing since boozers injury? Yeah, they're terrible. Seriously, how did millsap step up last night? Stop bagging boozer, the man had surgery.
Considering the success Tom Chambers, David Benoit, Quincy Lewis and, more recently, Carlos Aroyo have had in Tel Aviv and from there on out, this spells game over for Dee Brown.
Oh well, at least he will get to enjoy the nightlife Tel Aviv has to offer with his good buddy Roger Powell Jr. coming from Jerusalem before retiring...
time to trade him and Boozer for a first round pick next year...
Re: "I'm not surprised"...How can you bash AK for not "doing his duty" he's tried to play through the pain and put off the surgurery until the end of the season so that he doesn't miss playing time. Getting a Q shot in your ankle is not fun and very painful. AK is manning up big time and you bash him for it. If he could play on it he would. AK has shown in the past he is willing and does play through pain if at all possible I don't know how you can question his desire and toughness.
Injuries are the worst part of sports and the Jazz have been very fortunate in the past. Now that the Jazz have major time stealing injuries to some of their better players it is hurting both the players and the fans. Buck up and support your Jazz even in the tough times.
Looks to me like AK is done for the season.
I feel like Boozer is no longer a team captain. If I was Dwill i would call Boozer out. Ak47 plays through the pain and has done a great job this year. He has filled the role of 6th man really well.
Boozer take your money and sit on the bench somewhere else. Your lack of playing with heart has left. All you see are dollar signs and that ain't right.
I knew as soon as AK went out last week we had NO CHANCE to win games against Cleveland and Denver.
I was right too--NO CHANCE. AK is a weak body and there are some things he does that drive me nuts but when he plays he covers up for GIRLIE defense the rest of this team plays. Other teams shoot inside at will when he is out. They have absolutely no concern of being blocked. Okur is like a freakin' spectator when players are shooting over him.
All the other stats that AK brings just disappear when he is out and that results in losses.
Now he is going to require surgery.
This team is going to lose ALOT of games in the next 6 week. Count on it.
The schedule is getting tougher and our roster is getting thinner!! Not a good combination.
The fat lady just sang when we lost to Denver last night. The Division lead is gone for good--we will never sniff it again this year.
What is the Jazz's record without Boozer? Narrow minded Jazz fans think about the big picture Boozer out hurts two positions. Like it or not Millsap doesnt get the respect and calls from the officials, and it always seems like he misses critical FTs. Plus the Jazz lose the best PF off the bench in Millsap.
I am curious if the season is out of reach and Boozer does come back will he pass ever? Or just go after ever point he can to boost his numbers for the FA market.
Jazz are a 41-41 team this year, even if Boozer returns.
When Millsap comes out of the game he gets his knees covered in ice packs. Williams is hurting. Something must be wrong with Memo and Korver as they can't hit their hat. It may be time to mail in a bunch of games until these men heal and they can get a healthy Boozer, AK, Millsap and Williams on the floor.
Well, this season is down the toilet anyway. Who wants to struggle just to make the playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed and then get bounced by SA or the Lakers in the first round?
I'm actually hoping AK has his surgery, Boozer doesn't come back and Millsap is forced to sit for a few more games. Might as well let Koufos and Fesenko get as much experience as they can.
Net us a lottery pick by finishing ninth in the conference, although that appears to be the goal of Dallas and Phoenix as well. Who knows, with the streak that Minnesota is on, maybe they can catch us too. McHale is fighting for his life and doing a heckuva coaching job.
Maybe KOC can turn the 14th pick + a player or two into a nice trade to give the Jazz a more reliable starter at SG or SF. IMO, Brewer and CJ just aren't good enough. Jazz seem to always dig a big hole in the 1st quarter, then come out flat again in the 3rd. Something has to change with the starters.
Over paid actors doing a perfomance get hurt and they cry--- college players work their butts off with just a lousy scholarship-- go to those games -- sell the Jazz to somebody in Canada-- think its bad here??
I have to wonder, there seem to be so many ankle, foot, knee, etc. injuries that didn't seem to happen as much in years past. Maybe they need to look at the footwear these guys are using. Is it doing the job? IDK Please don't bash me for this though. I'm just curious and really know nothing about shoes. :)
Sloan talks tough and acts like his players are tough, but then you look at how many are sitting out. How tough are they? They talk about sloan being at the same place so long and I agree he has been at the same place more than any other coach who has never won a championship. Maybe that is why other teams have won the big one, they moved on!! The jazz are stuck with the same thing year after year, but no championship.
There is no way that we will ever get anyone for Boozer. All the other GM's will see that he has missed one half of his playing career on the injured list and no one wants to take a chance on him being healthy for them. Just let him go where he wants. Good riddance. If AK will be out for 3 to 4 weeks, why is he waiting? The sooner he gets it done, the sooner he comes back. We need his defense.
League leading in injuries, back-to-back road games, Western Conference, looks like the Jazz are TOAST for this season, regardless of when Boozer comes back. They're too banged-up, and will never be able regain the chemistry they need. What a shame.
AK If you need to have it operated on ... get 'er done now, don't put it off for a month like Boozer did.
There is no point in having you play at half-speed, in pain and only in some of the games.
