You mean a new fellowship in anti-Mormon studies.

Welcome news! The addition of Comparative Religion to the UU academic offering will be a major step toward encouraging intellectual maturity. Sterling McMurrin would be pleased.

This is terrific. I hope the religious studies major becomes a reality. Best way to counter religious extremism is to educate and begin talking. And a nice accoutrament to the Mormon studies program.

Bibical Greek | 10:28 a.m. Jan. 24, 2009
If they are really seious, find someone who can teach Koinme Greek, from this you could do critcal studies of thousands of early third to fiftenth century manuscripts and quotes from second and third century church fathers and the Bible would be seen in amazing light. "Sola Scriptura"

It is actually "Koine" Greek, not Koinme. It means common Greek.

It's about time the state's flagship university decided to get onboard. This is a very prudent thing to do. Not only will it enhance and build appreciation for other religions, but it will spark a level of understanding of disparate religions that is sorely needed. I know some namby-pamby legislators are afraid of our precious students learning about a religion other than the "true one," but hey, this is the wave of the future and I for one am glad the U caught on. Would that BYU would follow suit.

I would imagine that anything taught that is different than the Mormon religion must be anti-Mormonism???? Grow up, there's more than just one religion in the world and if you better understand their's, you can either defend your own better or realize that yours may be flawed.

It will be great to breath fresh air into religious studies at the U. Hopefully they will learn enough truth to help the Y see the light.
