Go RYAN! You're absolutely amazing!

Kim Huish

Knowing Ryan personally, I wholly agree with this article. Ryan is a not only a stellar basketball player but person as well. Congratulations Ryan!

friday

great article!

BB

One of the best guys you'll ever meet - off and on the court. Keep it up!!

BB Fan

Toolson is a pure shooter. I'd like to see him play on a team where he doesn't have to do it all.

Cache Valley

Is former BYU player Andy Toolson Ryan's brother? Anyone? Anyone?

Re: Cache valley

Says in the article that Andy is his cousin.

DaSista

I am and have always been so proud of Ryan and all that he has accomplished! I love you bro! Go Wolverines!!!

Former Cache Valley Guy

The article says Andy is his cousin. I assume the writer is accurate.

Shooter

Toolson sounds like a great kid. We haven't seen a pure shooter like this in the state for 3-4 years.

On another note, in the NAU game, why wouldn't Hunsaker have him miss the shot? Lost the game by a point. You hit the shot, the choice is made and win out of reach. If it's missed, there's a chance to tie and win in OT. No blame on Toolson, but all of it on Hunsaker. Is basketball a team sport or individual sport? If I was an UVU player, I'd be frustrated with that coaching decision. It's about winning as a team, not padding stats. That's not meant to take away from Toolson or the article.

Andy Toolson is from Twin Falls, Idaho, not too far from Oakley, Idaho, (in case you aren't sure where Twin Falls is).
Danny Ainge is married to a Toolson and therefore, Austin Ainge is his cousin.

Kim Tarwater

I am so proud of Ryan. He comes from good 'stock' and he does his part to uphold the family name. Keep up the great work! Pa T and I are happy for you. Kim and Neal Tarwater

Great article! Good guys don't always finish last. Ryan worked extremely hard for everything he has achieved, and spent countless hours in his backyard practicing, shooting with his eyes closed to get the muscle memory. His parents have taught him well and developed his strong ethics and character.

TO SHOOTER:

You said in your comment "We haven't seen a pure shooter like this in the state for 3-4 years"
You obviously don't watch basketball then, because Jaycee Carroll of Utah State was here last year and played for 4 years. Toolsen would be in the same category as Jaycee Carroll when talking about pure shooters in the state. Get out and watch some basketball. Hopefully Toolsen gets the oppurtunity to play in Europe somewhere and make a good living.

Shooter

Carroll was good, no question, and the best thing we saw at Utah, Utah State, and BYU over the last 4 years, but I don't consider him elite.

And thank you, I do watch basketball. How about a conversation and rebuttle without attacks. Thanks.

Debbie Halverson

Ryan, there's no doubt you're an awesome and elite basketball player! we're proud of you and your success! But what I LOVED most about this article was not your success on the basketball floor but the attention you gave to the "one in need," the one you wanted to give a new pair of shoes. For you to have compassion like that for a fellow team player and actually go and do something about it while yet still in high school when everything is turned into a "me sydrome"... well, that is what I"m most proud of...the kind of person you are off the basketball floor! Those are the real heroes in life!!! That's my nephew...YOU MAKE US ALL PROUD!!!!!

Cottle

Why did Josh Cottle not come back to UVC and then end up on the bench at Weber St
