To me the study of economics is closer to a religion than to science. Much of it depends on faith, and the prophets are not revealed until after the event. For example Mr. Nothaft predicts an end to the recession by the end of this year. Yet there were economists telling us that we weren't in a recession in 2008 and that the economy would improve in the fourth quarter. How is it working for those of you that bet your investment strategy on that? Economist try to follow the scientific method, those who know what it is, but generally go with their own "logic" and feelings.

Interesting Stewart

But I don't see that much of a gap between religion and science (or economist for that matter). But then again I consider Meteorologist and Seismologist scientist and they dont always get their predictions right either.

Utah behind the curve

We all know that Utah continued the rise as others began to fall. If others are in the 5th inning, Utah is in the 2nd.

Econ

Why would anyone listen to an economist from Freddie Mac? That is just silly.
