We should ALL really do something else with our lives!
John Cleese is such a fawlty tower of a man! : ))))
celebrity worship | 5:49 a.m. Jan. 22, 2009
Its pathetic enough that our society has this culture of celebrity worship. But to actually earn a living off of pursuing them for signatures and photos -- I agree with John Cleese. What a wasted life. I, for one, don't care about what a celebrity thinks about global warming, or Obama, or what to eat, drink or wear. They're ACTORS! They only play real people on TV.

Sorry, but if you don't want paparazzi following you, then quit making movies. Certainly, there's millions of people in the world who would change places with these celebrities in a second. Also, Paris Hilton makes me sick.

Amazing..... | 7:30 a.m. Jan. 22, 2009
that people will actually follow around celebrities to take pictures and video thinking that these people are in someway better than others around including themselves. Let's be honest, most of the "celebrities" out there are miserable, have little or no morals and only live for the moment. I would say that most of them would love to trade places with most people off the streets anyday. Money and fame don't buy happiness.... either does taking pictures of people you don't really know.

Went to the Sundance Festival a few years ago and my friend walked around with a white t-shirt that had "Christina Ricci, Wanna Make Out?" written in permanent marker on it. It was hysterical. People were taking pictures fo him left and right. But it was a joke - this stuff is a little over the top. The desperate vicariousness of it all is ... sad.

I think we as a hole spend way to much time pursuing other people's buisness.I do think that if actor's put them selves on the big screen then taking of picture's should come with the territory. There are those that go way too far but for the most part,Who is paying monies to support their career????????????

Who cares if someone is famous. We are all people, we are all equal. Just because someone is in a movie, doesn't make them a good person. Heck, one can argue being a star is actually a pretty stupid profession. School teachers, police, and parents are more important to society than "stars." What a weird world. I have never asked for an autograph, unless it is on a check written to me or my business, those are the only signatures important enough to chase down.

I think its funny that some stars freak out when people want an autograph or picture with them or of them. These celebs have to remember that the reason they are famous is becuase of the people in the world, the same ones that are trying to get their autograph. I'm sorry "famous people", but the millions you make come from our pockets, so you ought to make time for your fans!

I have been working for a transportation company at the airport during Sundance. It's been interesting to talk with the other workers about who they've seen, met, served or talked to. It's all part of the job during the Festival. Also interesting to see how some of the stars are so friendly, congenial, down to earth and incogneto while others strut their stuff and try to be noticed. They're all just people and some people are friendly and unassuming, others are attention hogs. No different than the "star set".

I had a class with Skippy at UVSC. AT first I thought he was really strange but by the end of the semester I thought he was a really nice guy and I would even talk to him in the halls. He certainly has a way of grabbing attention.

I lived in London at one time and often would pursue stars to sign dvds, cds and such. Most are gracious and realize it is part of being famous but their are a few that I won't name (because I don't think DN would publish this post) that are flat out jerks and some of the biggest jerks are the most beloved people in Hollywood and the music business.

It got boring after a few years and I stopped doing it when I returned back to the USA.
