But still going to take "four, five, six weeks," whatever it takes? Boy, this guy's a monster truck like Millsap. We need more guys with hearts afire just like Boozer.
If "four, five, six weeks, whatever it takes" is a target, then hitting the bullseye on that moving target is going to be like herding cats. Good luck with that rehab target Carlos -- take as long as you need, just make sure you miss the Feb 19th trading deadline so you can cruise through to the end of the year without making anything like a commitment to your teammates, the organization that pays you and the fans (there might be one left) who still believe in you. In the meantime, please don't change your mind to opt out at the end of the season so you can collect that huge new contract you're expecting -- we all wish you well with that strategy.
Paul Milsap plays with more heart than anyone we've had around here since John Stockton.Period.
so true! great comment btw. also to any boozer defenders out there I have heard this guy talk about the game and he has left me impressed as one of the smartest offensive PFs ever and yet at the same time when it comes to injuries (its part of the profession) he has never does anything smart so I'm left to believe that he intentionally drags out these things. i guess since there are no stats for rehab effort and injury management he just simply
lacks heart.
Hummmm.....Boozer gets hurt. Can not play. Everyone on here rips on him constantly. If the man is hurt (and prone to injury) and a slow healer does that make him a looser? Knee injuries are very tricky. Lots of parts in the knee. Sometimes they never heal. Surgury doesn't fix everything. If cartalige (sp?) is damaged, it can not be repaired and can cause pain for the rest of your life. Look at Bill Walton, would have been one of the best to ever play had he had good knees. Running is one of the hardest things on the knee if there is cartalige damage. You end up with bone on bone. Boozer's injury may never get better. He may have to make a decision if he wants to play in pain and be a cripple the rest of his life or hang it up.
Lets just get rid of him. We don't need him, we don't want him. Trade him while we still might be able to get something for him.
This team is neither good enough nor has enough depth to be a top 3 team in the Western Conference without him. End of story. So we keep him or we find a replacement with the same value. Tough to do either of those......
"Four, five, six weeks, whatever it takes"
Honestly, does this sound like someone who is busting his butt trying to get back? I want to support this guy, but he does not have a frickin clue. He is a good player and the Jazz do need him, but what is wrong with this guy? Can anyone even tell me exactly what his injury is? As far as I can tell he is going to be out 3 months with a strained quad and debris in the knee that should have been found a long time ago. I just don't think he has any commitment to anyone but himself.
"It would be great to have homecourt advantage for a little bit," he said. "That's our goal."
I find it stange that the guy who has missed 3/4 of this years games would talk about "our goals". He hasen't suited up for 30 games...what is this "our goals". Man, put Milsap on to talk about goals, isn't he the one that goes out there every night with a brace on each knee??
I'm sick of people bashing on Boozer. WE NEED BOOZER! Even though Milsap has stepped it up a notch and has proven himself as a top PF in the NBA, we aren't going to win a championship or be very competitive down the stretch of the season without Boozer. He said some things he shouldn't have and I'm sure he's kickin himself in the head because of it, so I think we should cut him some slack and show some support. I want a championship and, as of right now, Boozer is key to that.
If Paul Millsap keeps doing his thing, every GM in the league is going to know that Utah wants to deal him, and Boozer's value -- even though he's a bona fide All-Star -- will plummet. (BP)
You are right, we need Boozer, but it's time to face reality; Boozer is not interested in being in Utah or playing for the Jazz. He hasn't pulled a Labron (wearing NY stuff everywhere he goes), but Boozer may as well be wearing a Dwade Jersey on the end of the bench, because his heart is elsewhere. If you can't sense that you are... We'd be better off resigning Milsap, Okur, etc. and using the 15 million+ it will take to resign Boozer to find someone else that wants to be here. If Boozer would just act like he cares I would be the first to pull my #5 Jersey out of the bottom drawer, Go Jazz!
I am betting Looser never wears a JAZZ uniform again! His welcome mat in SLC is worn out! Take a hike you DukeyLukey Loser!
Boozer is NOT the Jazz's leading scorer and rebounder. In PPG and RPG, yes--but when you've only played 12 games out of 42, I don't think per game totals provide a meaningful measure.
The real leaders? Mehmet Okur and Paul Millsap! Through 42 games:
Points:
Okur 610
Millsap 552
...
Boozer 246
Rebounds:
Millsap 341
Okur 284
...
Boozer 140
Why not bash Boozer? He seems as good a choice as any. How about DWill, with that ankle injury that never heals? Or AK, who has apparently injured every body part possible? Or Harpring, who belongs in a body bag? Or Korver, who should qualify for the disabled list solely on the basis of his haircut? Or Sloan, whose numerous broken noses has surely warped his brain? Face it, with a healthy Boozer the Jazz might make the playoffs this year. But it will be a brief run indeed. Next year you won't have Boozer to blame, so start picking your candidates for bashing now. Mediocrity is the mother of whining, the one thing you Jazz fans do so well.
Boozer would be a great addition to the Jazz's playoff push and beyond. Like it or not, this is a business and so far the product has been less than desireable. This team, this year, this moment needs Boozer; bottom line. Next year is a separate conersation, but this year is a must.
Four, five, or six weeks Boss..depends etc. How would that fly in the face of today's economy with any other boss. Take a permanent vacation Booze, your enthusiastic attitude toward work and the Jazz is showing little concern...maybe if the pay was cut off
you would show some life!!!!
Good news about Boozer but I guess the next deal will be to see if he remains in Utah after the Feb. trade deadline.
The DirecTV/KJAZZ deal bothers me. DirecTV is all about makiing money and I believe if it were any other team than the Utah Jazz they'd pay but Utah Jazz aren't a headline making team....YET.
he'll be here until the end of the season, end of story. he will not be traded i'd almost guarantee it. and he won't be ready to go by the trade deadline. even if he were, he's anticipating to be back just a couple days before the deadline. no team is gonna want to trade the quality players/money needed to take an injury prone player who can opt out in july. the only exception to that would be to free up cap space, which means he'd go to a bad team like okc or ny or lac, so we wouldnt get much in return anyways. he'll be here until july, thats final. after july though i highly doubt he'll come back. he's gonna want more money and any extra penny larry has lying around is gonna go to milsap, make no mistake of that.
boozer has already said he is going to opt out, because his family is getting a raise "regardless". Well, if the Miller family has brains they would let him opt out and then sign Milsap. With any "leftover" money they could sign another 1 or 2 players. May not make the playoffs this year, but even if boozer plays in the playoffs, remember last year, he lived in "choke city". Let him go, maybe DWill can get the moving company he advertises to help him pack and move 'em out. TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!
