Wow Jack Thompson making a shot at Obama? Too bad that permanently disbarred lawyer, has flip flopped so much in the past several months, he should be a politician. One month he was proclaiming how great Obama was and now he is back on the bashing bandwagon.... no surprised. Jack isn't exactly known for being truthful.... the Eagle Forum though should be careful, they still have him listed as an attorney when that was stripped from him for his behavior and conduct.
Way to continue being racist, bigoted, and all around un-Christian, Jack Thompson!
I have never said anything positive about Barrack Obama. Mr. Fletcher is quite confused, but then again most supporters of this socialist politician are confused--confused about the dangers of a growing government to the liberties and values of us all.
I am a Reagan conservative Republican, and the notion that I would in any fashion support anything that Mr. Obama is about is delusional.
I regret, however, that my comments to Eagle Forum about the danger he poses to liberty were not more extensive and more biting.
As to my disbarment, that was asked for by the video game industry and by a Florida lawyer who has since been indicted by the federal government for laundering money for the Medellin cocaine cartel. I am in the US Supreme Court about all this, and I will get my license back. If you can judge a man by the depravity of his enemies, then I am one heck of a good guy!
Blessings, Jack Thompson
This just confirms what we have known for the past few years: the Eagle Forum doesn't care about the biggest threat to families now: financial distress. Who cares if you don't have a job, as long as you don't read Victoria's Secret catalogs.
what a joke, this group of social misfits are so out of touch with the reality of america, and it's diversity that they help make utah the ozarks of the west. this is the group that still thinks putting flouride in water is a communist plot, but wait.. no more communists, so i guess it must be a socialist plot.....like medicare and social security and all those other things that have ruined america.... while the vast majority of the country are excited about the hope of a new beginning these fruitcakes are looking for a new bogey man...... and look close for the racial issues that are hidden in their agenda... the only saving grace is that they are such a SMALL MINORITY
I'm delighted to see how increasingly disconnected from reality these folks are becoming.
They deserve their self-made irrelevancy.
250 people at the convention, it sounds like the the number of Democrats in Utah County.
They may be a small minority but, unfortunately, they still manage to pull the legislative strings and, thus, effectively run the state.
and its taxpayers, and a free society, can no longer afford the social tyranny advocated by the Eagle Forum.
The Eagle Forum does great good in this state. I dont always agree with 100% of their positions, but I think the vast majority of their work helps us to be a stronger, freer state. Gayle Ruzicka and her team have earned my respect and gratitude.
Actually Mr. Thompson, I am not a supporter of Obama :) Nor am I in support of socialist democratic movements. Just saying you have flip flopped on many occasions. Oh and yes you have stated positive comments about Mr.Obama. However lets not go there. Actually let us establish some fact about your disbarrment, since you are lying again :)
I encourage folks to go to gamespolitics and view his actual referee report and the transcripts of Mr.Thompson's bar proceedings. As well as a case in 1988, where Jack displayed such behavior.
The bar complaints came from a Judge and several lawyers you have engaged in a series of misconduct. As you have for many years in other matters where you have systematically harassed and berated your "foes" in court, and engaged in numerous half truths and outright fabrications abotu the flavor of the day that you are opposing (ie: Janet Reno, shock jocks, rap music, video games, the florida bar...etc)
Actually Mr.Thompson, your enemies have nothing compared to the depravity that you have unleashed upon them. (ie: sending letters to wifes and mothers of your foes and berating them on how dare they let their loved ones commit "crimes")
Mr Thompson, you were not disbarred because of your campaign against Video games, you were disbarred for unethical behaviour, making knowingly false statements about your enemies in order to attack them and a host of other misdemeanours.
Considering you gloated over the recent death of Steven Chaykin, claiming it was 'judgement from God' when the man sacrificed his life to save his wife, considering you wrote to the family on the day of the funeral claiming that you were going to sue (a case the fell apart almost instantly through lack of any evidence on your part) I really think you are the last person in the world to be talking about 'depravity'.
I am personally offended that Jack Thompson would set his sights on Utah as the prefect place to peddle his unique brand of misinformation and zealotry.
As it stands most people outside of Utah already see us as a bunch of xenophobic luddites and I don't think we need a sensationalistic glory hound like Thompson exploiting that view and making it worse.
I'm upset that Mr. Thompson's hope was to find a sympathetic ear and it is my sincere hope that we as Utah citizens can overcome political and spiritual differences enough to see through Thompson's carnival barker performance act and prove to him and the nation at large that although Utah may have a strong sense of morality, we're not the gullible rubes Mr. Thompson seems to think we are.
Look, Jack! Called on by 3 different people, and no reply? Whats the matter? The truth stings a bit?
