Comments about ‘Raser explores geothermal potential’

It's absurd that Mayor Becker put the Raser project on the list of "ready-to-go" projects. If the project is in the preliminary stages, it is in no way ready to go. Rather, it's simply something on Mayor Becker's agenda, but that the city doesn't have the money to pay for.

This is a perfect example of why Obama's bailout plan is a bad idea that won't work. It's designed for projects that will provide immediate job growth in the economy, but it's going to end up going to politicians' pet projects, regardless of readiness. Or worse, it will fund projects that are rushed through the planning stages, but that will require exorbitant expenditures in the future to fix planning mistakes that were overlooked today.

Because of these political realities, the bailout will not work as expected and will only cause us painful and expensive headaches in the future.

Within 6 months a geo thermal plant could be reducing the air pollution and not pose a threat, unlike the oil refineries. Rocky Mountain Power may not like it but is it time for a change in thinking.

Be careful Mayor. You are playing into a hype. Raser has been promotional in getting exposure to schemes that never pan out. First it was the electric motor that was 3 times more efficient and now it is steam? They have sold a lot of stock but have never delivered anything but hot air. Steam is right up their alley.
