We didn't need to further expand it.

Hatch is finally doing something right. They should eliminate the program completely and stop making insurance companies rich out of our SS retirement funds. Government must get out of welfare and socialistic programs, it is detrimental to the stability of american economy, jobs, and wages. Besides, the only people poor enough, by deception and lies, to qualify for welfare are the illegal foreign nationals. It would better serve the REAL poor people of Utah if they reopened the County Hospitals like they used to have to treat the poor and homeless, and at much less of a cost. The billions given to insurance companies could be put to much better use in a free hospital. Then the IHC's wouldn't have to jack up costs for those that do have insurance to cover losses from the illegals.

Any Gov. program will be expanded and expanded. That is why SS and The economy in general is in such a mess.

Glad to see old Orrin recovered from his Potomac fever long enogh to "vote Utah" on this one.

Now, if he can retain his lucid thoughts long enough to vote against confirmation of Holder and Geitner, maybe there is hope for him yet.

Bennett is a different story. He needs to be replaced by a real Utah conservative in 2010.

Kudos to Hatch for voting against the unnecessary expansion of SCHIP. It would be even better to eliminate this program and cut taxes, allowing states to fund and operate HHS programs as they choose.
WOW! | 9:48 a.m. Jan. 16, 2009
Every now and then Senator Hatch does something that actually makes sense.

Him and Bennett still need to go away though. Far, far away.

I can't wait to vote these two dinosaurs out of office. Everything that is wrong with America has happened while these two big tent disticks have been in office.
