You need to be kidding. Why are we given this man the chance to show anything in Utah. He shouldn't be making money in our state when he works against our values.
I'm sorry, Anonymous, "our values"? Whose values? I believe you mean your very own. Is it so scary to consider other ways of living, other view points? Films show us glimpses of the incredible vastness of the rest of the world, thankfully.
If a couple of foreign films scare you so much, you should really get out of Utah more often.
I really don't care if Redford and all of his liberal buddies come to Park City for a week to enjoy the beauty Utah has to offer. More power to them!! But whenever I hear about Redford I can't help but think of one word, HYPOCRITE!! Here is a man who is supposedly one of the leading advocates for the "green" movement and saving our natural resources. Unfortunately, Redford is only in favor of saving our natural resources when it benefits him. He didn't think twice about clear cutting thousands of acres of forrest land in order to build his ski resort and his extremely large house on Timp. NOr does he seem to be concerned with the dumping of sewage into the Provo river which comes from his ski resort.
He has every right to do what ever he wants. But he shouldn't live the double standard.
Robert Redford--a wonderful asset to Utah. Too bad most Utahns are clueless.

"He didn't think twice about clear cutting thousands of acres of forrest land in order to build his ski resort and his extremely large house on Timp. NOr does he seem to be concerned with the dumping of sewage into the Provo river which comes from his ski resort."
Redford bought the ski resort that was already built and you can hardly say that cutting down a few thousand square feet to build a house is "clear cutting". As for the sewage, the north fork home owners association and Sundance pay quite a bit for their sewage processing facility that is one of the most advanced and ecologically friendly available. Get your facts straight.
I don't agree with Robert Redford's stance on many issues but I certainly think he is a very respectable resident of our state.
I had heard "everyone who was anyone" was boycotting Utah/Sundance this year? :) Glad to see everyone decided to show up after all!!
Keep up the good work, but do something with that hair!
My thoughts exactly...what happened to all the Prop 8 retribution Utah was going to get??? This Redford guy is a buffoon, pretty "plastic" if you ask me. Go ahead and keep all that anti-Mormon money flowing into Utah's economy though.
People who talk about things on these message boards often don't know. Quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand.
Why would the pro-Prop 8 crowd boycott Sundance and the Queer Lounge? Boycotting Utah was a silly, silly idea but just because a few people said it loudly, doesn't mean it was embraced by the many.
I do wish the Dnews (probably Redford's fault) would get a new photo! That one has been in my face on your web site for ages.
Hypocrite! Hypocrite!
Yeh that "Boycott Utah" battle cry seemed to fade fast, didn't it?
You have no idea what you are talking about, I live up in Sundance and there is no such sewage being dumped into Provo river, and as for Redford clearing away thousands of acres for his ski resort...???? I'll just pretend you didn't even say that, to spare you to embarrassment of your ignorance. Do you see how many "thousands of acres" he has preserved with aspen grove and the north fork preservation alliance...? Redford is a great guy and I am glad he is my neighbor.
"Hurray" for Robert Redford. We need more people like him. He's a doer. He is a Hero who helps the Artists, and Mother Earth. He sets a great example for all. I look up to him and encourage him to keep on keeping on!
