The Jazz need a new bloody trainer. Mark Mckown seems like a good dude, but this is beyond crazy. It may just be karma evening itself out though. The Jazz were the least injured team in the league for 20 years from 1984-2004. If the injured games missed was not even half, maybe a third of what they have been, the Jazz would be a 2 seed right now behind the Lakers.

This season has been a real disaster.

Don't worry Paul, no one here will question your manhood after playing with that huge brace on your leg and still posting solid numbers. I have liked what I've seen from Price the past couple of games hopefully that will continue on the road! It's amazing how veterans look compared to say CJ when it comes to the little things that help you win. Plus with Price, Brewer and AK you have a pretty fast athletic team out there.

Millsap is a fake. He just realized he can make money without working just like Boozer does. TRADE PAUL MILLSAP!

Isn't this a great season though - even with the adversity the Jazz are not far off. A health and strong finish and we are into the deep end of the playoffs!!!!!

Maybe the Jazz are using the tactics used by the Spurs and the Rockets ('94, '95) in the past--getting everyone healthy and then pouring it on in the playoffs. Kidding. Hope everyone heals up.

Poor little Milsap has an ouchy in his knee! Trade him to the Heat while we still have the chance! I've had a bad knee for years and it never once caused me to miss my job as a toll both operator.
Chukar | 1:23 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Trade Milsap??? You are just looking for a reaction right???
Ha ha | 1:25 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Isn't this ironic? The savior of the '08-'09 season is hampered by a "bruised knee." The guy who single handedly had Jazz fans kicking Boozer's butt out of town is showing his own fragility. Maybe before all you Boozer haters went wild with your "Boozer won't play through anything, Millsap plays through everything" rhetoric, you should have recognized there's a big difference between 20 mpg off the bench and 35-40 starter minutes a night. In no way am I saying Millsap is injury prone--it's far too early to go there--but this is just further proof that shows injuries happen to everyone. Even the 100% heart, 100% effort guys. I guess the question now is if Millsap shows a propensity for injury then how long will it take for Jazz fans to claim him soft and heartless?
Re: gog3gtb | 1:26 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
How are these rash of injuries the trainer's fault? Did you not see both of Milsap's injuries? DWill's in the preseason? Boozer's? CJ's? Those were all legitimate injuries, proven by video replay, that would've sidelined even the best conditioned athletes. If you must opine, please at least act like you know what you're talking about.

He is making fun of everyone who felt justified in saying we should trade Boozer because they hadn't ever called in sick before. Look, injuries happen. They just do sometimes, and believe it or not, sometimes players can't choose whether or not they will play. I was reading an article written by Clyde Drexler on his biggest adjustment after retiring and it was that he didn't need to take a daily nap after retiring. That may sound lazy, but for me, it is proof of what a beating NBA players go through physically. With so many games, it is amazing that they are healthy as often as they are.

How could an Athletic Trainer or in McKown's case, a strength and conditioning coach have prevented Millsap's injury. He hurt it in a knee-to-knee collision with Korver. I'm sorry that he didn't jump in between the two to keep them from getting hurt.

I am horrified to read your comments, Millsap may have a fractured cartilage, yet trying to play, you should admire his dedication to the team.

I see the Irony
STEVE-O | 2:18 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
Fractured cartilage? Or maybe his cartilage has fallen off the bone completely. I'd guess his knee cap has been bruised so severely that it's turned into powder! In fact I'm sure Millsap's MRI will prove that he no longer has bones at on in his right leg because it's so severely wounded!!!

I say it's a bone bruise and nothing more. Those injuries can take forever to heal because treatment is limited. And any little bump can cause pain and make healing time extended! I hope Paul can come back and play soon.
my thoughts | 2:38 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
That's too bad about Millsap,

As long as AK plays 0ver 30 minutes the Jazz will be fine. The Jazz are 15 and 4 when he plays over 30 minutes

Here is a complete break-down
When AK plays under 20 minutes the Jazz are 1 and 5 (17%)
When AK plays between 20 and 24 minutes the Jazz are 1 and 3 (25%)
When AK plays between 25 and 29 minutes the Jazz are 6 and 3 (67%)
When AK plays between 30 and 34 minutes the Jazz are 9 and 3 (75%)
When AK plays 35 or more minutes the Jazz are 6 and 1 (86%) - The one lose was against Houston in double overtime where AK had 50 minutes.

There is other factors, but when he is on the court the Jazz outscore their opponents by 217 points and when he has been on the bench the Jazz have been outscored by 86 points.

I expect Memo, Williams, AK all score over 20 points and the Jazz will still win by 15 points tonight.

PAUL MILSAP IS WORK HORSE IN MOTION AND IT UPSETTING TO HEAR COMMENT ABOUT TRADING HIM THAT WOULD BE BIGGEST MISTAKE HE IS DEDICATED AND HE WANT TO WIN GAMES AND HOPE HE STAY AND PLAY FOR THE JAZZ HE HAS REAL FUTURE HERE AND LIKE MOST THERE IS STILL ALOT OF FANS WHO ARE TOOTING FOR HIM ALL THE WAY
Sloan lover @ trade Milsap | 3:25 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
did you say toll booth operator or Troll booth operator?? come on the guy had a hyper extended knee and still played. The guy had a nice consecutive game streak going as well. Paul is tough as nails, I'm sure he will be back on the court before he should and weeks ahead of Boozer's schedule. Having your knee drain in hopes of playing isn't in Boozer's vocabulary, let's not get these two mixed up!!
boo | 3:50 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
wake up and keep boozer he are only chance to win big

well I eat jelly donuts for a living and an injured leg never kept me from missing my job. These NBA athletes are a joke, you can't run on a severely bruised knee? C'mon Paul!

Suck it up Milsap, or spray some windex on it!

This season is over....focus on developing the younger players and call it good. Price, Fez, Kosta, Miles, and Almond should start.
