BOOZER WHO? | 9:58 p.m. Jan. 12, 2009
We don't need Booser. The Jazz looked awesome tonight. Great game. Too bad Millsap was out. Imagine the score if he was playing!!

Re-sign Okur and Extend Millsap!!

Boozer Who????

Doesn't Boozer owe us money?

In his short (compared to the time he's actually played) stint with us now what's his percentage of games missed due to being an "injured" whiner? I saw Karl at a game last month and it brought back memories of tantrum after tantrum, but at least he played and lived up to earning his money.

Larry was always vocal about Karl (I think because he really had personal feelings for Karl), but has remained silent on Booz. Someone needs to put this overrated, weak defending, big game choking, playoff vacationing, unappreciative, diva in his place.

Give Millsap Boozers $$$$$ next year and offer Booz the rookie minimum (ha ha) or let him go to Europe. That's a warning to all other NBA teams.

As my Mom always has told me, "Stay away from the Booz!"

"Glassman" Boozer should just retire. Basketball's just to hazardous to his fragile health!

Memo, that was an absolute RIDICULOUS night! Way to go buddy! GREAT game for you! You're the man Memo!

Sincerely,

Utah Jazz Fans who should right now be talking about Memo, not Booz.
Not about Booz | 8:13 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Forget the Booz -- this story is all about a great team effort without him, Millsap, Miles, etc. It's amazing what a little grit and determination will do, and kudos to Mehmet -- wow, what a night! On the other hand, if you love defense you would have hated this game ;-)

Lets quit dissing on Boozer and keep in focus the game! They were awesome last night!

Williams 3-point shot at the end was incredible. He is such a core for this teams focus! We works so hard to make these plays happen. And Okur is the bomb. AK is superb! Lets just say it - the whole team steps up and plays their heart out. They are amazing to watch. There is such a connection with the teamates that I just don't see in the other teams.

Fact is, with or without Boozer, they are a great team. But if we look back on the injuries for the year, its not just with or without Boozer. We pull through no matter who is in street clothes that night. They all play hard and they all can be counted on. I'm just glad that they CAN count on each other for that. I can't imagine the Lakers making it without Kobe. Yes, he's great (even though I hate him) but how much backbone do they have if he suffers a major injury! Difference - The Jass know there is no I in TEAM!

Jazz Rock!!

Congrats to Memo for being the first white guy to put up 40+ since Bird scored 47 on the San Diego Clippers in '83

Who keeps stats by race?
Shawn Bradley | 10:38 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Shawn Bradley scored 32 points in a game, he was a better defensive player than memo.
re: eye dee ten tee | 10:36 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
what are you trying to say? That white people can't play basketball? I hate reverse racism.
40+ | 10:42 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Happens once a week in the NBA.

Dirk has also scored 46 points in a game this year

Reality Check | 11:17 a.m. Jan. 13, 2009
This game was fun to watch and Memo was awesome BUT....lets get a grip on reality. If this was against any team but the defenseless Pacers, Memo would not have been that open all night long.

This style of play, ie. your Center bombing 3's/playing perimeter, will not get you too far in the playoffs either. Last night we had little or no post game which would have killed us in a playoff circumstance.

Like I said, nice game but it was a mirage that does not lend itself to sustainable reality.

Like it or not, we have little or no post presence without Booz. I hate the fact that what I just said is true because he plays defense like water through a screen door.

All that said, I hope we can get everyone healthy and back on the floor together post all-star break to see what kind of a run we can make because the reality is that this team as we know it will be missing 1 or maybe even 2 big pieces. Either Memo/Booz/AK is gone.

Each one brings something valuable and some more than others.

Decision time is coming soon!!

Sorry. I should show some respect for this stately forum. Anyone who spends their valuable time writing comments about a game must have something important to say.

Again, please forgive me. I'll stop being silly.

Funny. Paul Pierce scoring 39 in OT 'deserves' a headline in yahoo's NBA page, while Okur's 43 points are ignored.
Jay-Z | 1:09 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
I think they mean Memo is the first center who scores 40+ since Bird. For Us its big cause Jerrys system isnt the way for a player to score so much points. Maybe he let the money play cause he was hot against the Pistons. Memo shows heart and discipline in absence of Booz and Paul. He is a better player in the NBA and must have for the Jazz. I Love this big Fella to watch makin3ees. His next big paycheck is guaranted i think.
Cap'n Parrotdead | 1:20 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Hey, what happened to the usual post from Miles? I miss that guy and his over top CJ-ness. I've decided to be nice to him 'cause I figured something out: it actually is CJ Miles doing the posting!

Way to go, CJ buddy!
re: Jay Z | 1:28 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Booz and Memo complement each other. The big question is can one of them exist/be successful without the other?

Booz plays in the post and Memo avoids. Usually Centers have to play down low to some significant degree.

If we get rid of Booz, who is our low post threat that requires a double-team inside so that Okur gets open all the time on the perimeter?

If we let Okur go, who pulls the opposing teams big-man/Center out to the perimeter so the too short Boozer can operate in the post?

Inquiring minds want to know.

This team has a serious dilemma this offseason. These two go well together but neither one may be near as good when/if the other has to leave due to salary cap restraints.

Hey, smell that?
page | 3:51 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
it was fun to watch but i don't think the Jazz played that good maybe on offense but no defense at all. Still need a 3 can't find one. they are all over the NBA. why can't we get one.Memo was a bad a-- out there.D-WILL stop going to the basket and throwing up Junk.
re: re: Jay Z | 5:55 p.m. Jan. 13, 2009
Did boozer play this game?

I think not.

Not much complementing going on last night.

Bird wasn't a center, but you're the CEO of hip-hop, you should know that
MEMOLI | 4:40 p.m. Jan. 14, 2009
