Barnyard Ruckus/Playoffs? | 9:21 a.m. Jan. 9, 2009
Tell you what, Steve Pate and Sandy Lyle need to put their heads together and come up with a plan to have Veejay Singh be a leader. If they want to strengthen their abilities, let Skott Tomazar do some training. Either way we need to act now, cause Tyrone Corbyn says so.
Go Congress! | 9:35 a.m. Jan. 9, 2009
I'm usually not a fan of government intervention, but I do think government needs to bust monopolies and trusts and the BCS is one of the worst! They want to keep everybody out because they don't want to share, so why not cut off their government money until they do share? I bet they would revamp it in a few days! Unfortunately this was done before Utah was unjustly treated. Maybe they can push it, and force one more game!
I'm Tired!! | 10:24 a.m. Jan. 9, 2009
I am tired of politicians making political statesment/hay about this topic and never really doing anything about it!!

How many politicians have blabbed on about this over the years? AND WE STILL HAVE THE BCS!!! So all you really have had is a bunch of politicians saying something you agree with so you connect that come time of the their re-election!! You are being manipulated!!!

My question is what is stopping the legislators? They are the big tough lawmakers so write the stinking legislation and have a vote. Stop wasting time just talking to cameras and DO something!

With all the countries other problems this is hardly a top priority so have some aide write the legislation and keep it clean and get it in for a vote.

By the way--you need 16 teams not 8!! There are plenty of weeks to play it out. Who would not want to watch more football during December/early January?

"Barton denied that his bill amounted to congressional meddling."

I say LET'S MEDDLE with the BCS. The system needs to change.

We need a 16 team playoff! 11 conference champions and 5 at large teams. That way no one conference can complain.

Anybody know what the contents of the proposed Congressional Bill are? I'd be interested in knowing.

I have been doing a Playoff each season since 2005, using the present BCS Final Rating. It doesn't extend the season and fits the Bowls like a glove. A Champion is crowned the first part of January and what a Christmas Holiday Season with the top 14 teams from the BCS participating. I am 73, retired Military and have been around the world and without exception FANS everywhere have been asking for College Football Playoffs. The BCS has been a good beginning. BUT!!! You should win or loose on the field. Do away with the conference tie-ins to certain Bowls. Rotate the Bowls each year. Using a Straight 8 or 16 team bracket would greatly weaken the Major Bowls and miss use the higher ranked teams. Making the top 6 teams AUTOMATIC would guarantee a GREAT FINISH LINE. Having the ELIMINATION ROUND(to get the 7th and 8th Teams) would get the Championship off to a beautiful start and guarentee the top bowls: Rose, Sugar, Orance, Cotton, Fiesta, Capital One,and Gator of having the greatest games. Go to Kirby Glove Blog and help FANS get their playoff.
