Jackson Emery has been a pleasant surprise with his ability to contribute so effectively. Lamont Morgan and Emery have both been superb contributors at the Guard line.
Chris Miles has been a bit of a disappointment at the post and can't stay out of foul trouble. Without an inside presence BYU will have major problems with Utah and other teams with a very good center.
The Utah squad looks very good and Boylen has done a superb job in preparing them for the MWC season. BYU has a chance to win the conference, and Emery, Morgan, and Miles must play well for the Cougars to come out on top.
Fredette and Tavernari have been everything many Cougar fans have hoped for, and Cummard seems to surprise with his ability to overachieve. This Cougar team has played well, even in its two losses. I greatly admire Coach Rose and what he has accomplished.
Despite living in Louisiana, I follow the Cougars religiously and appreciate the Deseret News coverage.
I expect Fredette and Emery to be a phenominal backcourt their junior and senior seasons. Haws will come back and step into Emery's role.
And to fill in haws and jackson's feet will be Jackson's little bro. he's amazing no joke. Thats if he chooses not to play at a real power house and goes to the Y. your my boy jacks keep it up!
I was surprised with how fit Emery is. I also think he has a beatifully smooth jump shot. He's really fun to watch. He was probably very smart about what he ate and drank on his mission. Many moons ago I returned from Ecuador realizing my football days were over. The two years had taken quite a toll on my body. It's neat and unusual to see Emery bounce back so quickly. Go Emery and Go Cougars.
I play against his lil brother. He is the best player in utah. If we hold him to 25 points, we think it is an accomplishment. This guy is amazing. Jackson's good too but Nick Emery is even better.
