All of the things mentioned in the article are fine and dandy. However, what the article fails to mention is that Title II, Subtitle A of this bill would statutorily codify the National Landscape Conservation System (which was created in the last days of the Clinton administration) within the Bureau of Land Management. Doing so would threaten recreation, public access, grazing, mining, energy development and other multiple uses of public lands. Thus, the reason for opposition. Remove this provision and it flies through.
