How about choosing science and reality over faith and superstion? That would be more healthy.

Science is always fleeting, changing and evolving. Plus the world is full of junk Science. Just ask the FDA!(I used to work in that industry, so I have first hand knowledge of this) Science can't explain most of the things we observe on this earth or the universe. Even Charles Darwin said he didn't believe his theory of evolution could have ever created the human eye with all it's contrivances. Sir Issac Newton said that the magifnicent engineering of the human thumb convinced him there is a God. Albert Einstien used to debate the existance of intelligent design of the universe by asking his atheists collegues, "Who wound the watch", refering to the universe as a well running watch. So much for Science! Intelligent design works much better for me and it is more reliable explanation of everything!

True religion=true science. The problem is there are tons of false religions and false "scientific" theories. Examples are ubiqitous! In the meantime, we should search and test both holding onto truth wherever we find it, always knowing that God has not revealed everything yet and science has not discovered everything yet. That is why we need faith, which is defined as the evidences of things not seen, but that are true! I don't know about your religion, but mine does not require me to believe things that are not true, but does require me to accept the evidences of truth as my basis for faith! I like my religion a great deal because of that!

What makes you think science is more healthy than faith? Ancedotal as it may be, my own experience has been that atheists seem more pessimistic and gloomy than the believers I know. Some studies have shown that regular churchgoers are happier than those who don't attend church. A simple Google search I just did found several summaries of such studies.

I guess I see science and faith as a false dicotomy anyway. I'm a lifelong science enthusiast and a person of faith. I don't see any contradiction.

More dishonest quote mining about Darwin and the eye. What Darwin said was this:

If you want to comment on Evolution, at least be honest about it. It is sad how creationists can't make their argument without false witnessing.

Great topic except that some of you cannot debate this without calling other who disagree with you "fools: idoits", etc. I wonder why that is? No one called any of you names. At the risk of being called a name, here is some "logic" for you. Lets assume the athiests are right. Life has no meaning,our existance is an accident; we live, we die, the lights go out and that's it, forever. What has my religion and my faith cheated me out of? I lived, I was happy (even falsely), I enjoyed my life. I win! On the other hand lets say the believers are correct. We are born, we live our lives, make choices and decision all of which have eternal consequences and profound meaning. The lights do not go out and we find ourselves face to face before God to be judged of our actions and faith and receive an eternal reward. What have atheists lost? You see, believers are in a win, win situation in either case. I choose faith! Call me stupid, idiot, whatever..you get to choose your course, just like I do. See you there!
