Dick Harmon: MWC hoops is what we expected

And if they don't, then we get angry and start calling them names.
What MWC fans can expect is that every few years the Utes will have a good showing in the Tournament.
What WAC fans can expect is that every year a WAC team will have a good showing in the Tournamant.
And by the way what is the best win for the WAC this year? USU v. Utah at home. USU and the WAC suck this year and haven't been as good as the MWC since Nevada was in the top 25.
USU will been the only team from the WAC to get in the tourament this year and they will get at best a 10 seed and lose their first game.
And UNLV will return to the sweet sixteen, and maybe just maybe BYU wins a game (please for the sake of the MWC)
12 preseason home games against poor teams doesn't deserve any type of respect.
Why is Disco afraid to play a decent team on the road?
Remember when he quit CSU to go to Logan? He said the reason why he left CSU was because he knew he could never compete with Utah and BYU for a championship. Bottom line is MWC may not be great but it's better than the WAC. I would love to see Disco play a MWC schedule, the Ags would never have a league record better than .500
Let's compare though...
07-08 USU 24-11 BYU 29-8 BYU wins!
06-07 USU 23-12 BYU 27-9 BYU wins!
05-06 USU 23-9 BYU 22-9 BYU wins (due to 04-05)
04-05 USU 24-8 BYU 11-21 USU wins
Ouch for who?
And as far as the WAC goes, yes it might be weak this year, but Fresno St, Nevada and NMSU have been consistently better then anything the MWC had to offer in recent history.
FYI:Fresno ST, Utah St and Nevada of the WAC and Wyoming, UNLV, Utah and New Mexico of the MWC have advanced in the tournament.
Only UNLV, Utah and Nevada have made the sweet 16 appearance since the formation of the MWC. Really not much difference between the two conferences.
I will sign that Petition. BYU really needs to win a NCAA Tourney game. BYU needs the respect that a Tourney victory would bring and so does the MWC.
It certainly doesn't help the MWC when one of its teams loses in the first round year after year after year (year after year).
Peace out homeboys,
Jess
