The Saddleback forum was the one chance to compare the two candidates fairly. No attack ads, no bitter arguments, just two people being asked the same questions, fairly. Thank goodness someone offered it.
The most interesting aspect of the forum was that Obama's views on faith line up much more with LDS views than McCain's views do. Obama views faith as an ongoing struggle (endure to the end) and McCain views faith as "I've been saved" and then tells a prisoner-of-war story. I highly recommend finding a transcript of the forum and reading over it. It's certainly more informative than reading propaganda from CURE.
My reasoning is that America's crisis is religion. The moral ambiguity comes from believing in complex array of competing fictions.
Faith. Lived, it enriches us. Shared, it divides us.
Ah yes, the dirty business of mixing politics and religion. What was that thing about reaping what one sows?
The above comments are typical marxist commments regarding religion.
They all demostrate perfectly how the marxists view religion.
Regardless of what you may think of religion,
This country was founded on freedom of religion, publicly as well as privately, and freedom of speech.
I think Obama is smart to have Warren speak.
