No Excuses, Coach Sabin | 6:43 a.m. Jan. 3, 2009
No, Alabama didn't lose because the coach didn't give them enough motivation, or because they were missing a key offensive lineman, or because they didn't have cracked wheat for breakfast. Alabama lost because they were beaten by a better football team.

The missing offensive lineman had nothing to do with the way Utah was able to move down the field with their offensive. Utah could also make the case that they were missing people, that they received some huge penalties, or that key mistakes on special teams and an untimely turnover lead to ALL of Alabama's points.

Those argument by Utah would also be mistaken. Great teams win despite poor motivation, missing teammates, and costly mistakes. They overcome and conquer. This is one true-blue BYU fan saying, "GREAT JOB, UTAH"!

You made Utah and the entire MWC conference proud...

Utah is #1 regardless what happens in the BCS championship game. They both have 1 loss Utah has none. Utah has now been undefeated twice and is very much deserving of the #1 ranking for this year. Great win coaching staff and team members. This truly is a team. Not an overrated coach or football players just everyone working together and not being intimidated by history. Doing the work and seeing the results.
I am a BYU fan and I wish BYU wouldn't choke in the big games. Utah way to show it can be done. I am now converted to a Utah fan as well as a MWC fan. I used to route for BYU and anyone who played Utah, but now I see the error of my ways. Go Utah, except when you play BYU. But I wont be too upset if you win.

Saban simply said what many coaches from elite conferences would say. It will be interesting to see what Urban Meyer has to say about this.

They could play this game over and Utah would still win. Utah EXECUTED. Despite Alabama getting handed all of their points, Utah dominated this game. Wilson, which I've called erratic all year makes mistakes like overthrowing open recievers and throwing up jump balls. Aside from the two INTs, Utah had two other situations when they dropped easy INTs. Utah's recieving corps made great plays all game, while Julio Jones dropped several passes. Coffee and Ingram played mediocre and Bama's defence was no where to be found. Where was Mount Cody?

No, if they play this game again Utah wins again coach Saban. You ran into a better team. A team that EXECUTES.

You folks say what you want to and I agree that Utah beat Bama very good last night. I have to add that if Bama had played like they did when they played Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU and some more they would have won. I think Bama went in this game thinking they had it made and Utah surprised them. This happens. I have been watching football all my life and I'm 78. I think that Bama would beat Utah if they had another chance but they don't and I hope they are awarded the National Championship over Florida or Oklahoma. Now all your big mouths on here remember that your team probably got motivated by reading some post of the big mouth Bama fans. I believe this is what beat Ohio State in one of their title games. Their fans run their mouths too much.
