No, the Ute Defense rolled the Tide.

As a life-long Bama fan. Theirs no excuses you all whipped us badly tonight. Good luck in the final Poll, if I could vote you would have mine as number 1. Maybe we'll cross paths again in the near future(hopefully with a different outcome) could someone explain what ever happened to Reggie Busch and the agent buying his parents home for USC. Just seems the NCAA LET IT GO. Thanks
ROLL TIDE!!! Wait | 12:56 a.m. Jan. 3, 2009
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!

This like most all of their bowl games was one impressive defensive effort... Sack after sack after sack. I think we even missed a couple because Wilson was able to move out of them...

I loved watching that Bama tight end continue to jump off sides when Utah's D was stunting them.

I love that all the ignorent Bama fans have simply disappeared!!! Boy they were obnoxious these last few weeks... They really proved their ignorence and lack of football IQ coming into this game with the attitude of we are entitled to a win for showing up.

Utah deserves a share as the only undefeated team in the country... They beat some great teams this year along the way...

GO UTES.... BAMA SUCKS

Great gameplan.

Great execution.

Great team.

Great win.

Great season, book end with wins from the all-time winningest programs on the road (Michigan and Alabama). PLUS 3 more wins over ranked teams.

Come on. Playoff BABY!

Go Utes!

Great win for BYU! . . . . great win for the MWC, great win for the state of Utah, great win for the non-BCS teams, yes that includes BYU as well!!!! ha ha!!! The Utes dominated the tide like no other team. UTAH #1!!!!!!! The biggest play of the game was the recovered Ute fumbe off that first punt return. If that ball would have been recoverd by Bama the onset would have been totally different. Utah had an overall great team this year, good QB, RBs, four awesome reaceivers and that defense, and Sakota. I have witnessed two other undefeated teams from the state, BYU 84 and Utah 2004, but those seasons ended against mediocre teams so we don't really know how good they were due to no fault of their own. I would take the 2004 Ute team as the best as they were the most dominant, always winning going away. If FL beats OK the Utes have earned the discussion as #1 due to a much better performance against the 'tide. The mighty SEC was 0-2 against the MWC this year!!!!!
UT #1! UT #1!

Congradualtions on a very exciting game. I know it won't happen, but to me Utah was the number one team in the nation this year.

Well done, Utah.

How do you make Crimson Tide cookies?

Put in a big bowl and beat for 60 minutes.
BYUfan | 7:06 a.m. Jan. 3, 2009
I was screaming like a bona fied Ute. The offense was great. The defense was amazing. Way to go Utes!

It's hard to heap enough praise on the performance of the Utes all season and especially last night. Can you spell R E S P E C T?. Having children that graduated from both Utah and BYU I have a conflict as to who I should root for sometimes; but this has been a really great season for any fan of the MWC. Give it up for the Utes everybody!
metamoracoug | 7:18 a.m. Jan. 3, 2009
For me, watching the Ute defense shred Alabama's offensive line was the best part of the game. It was total domination of an offense that was among the best of the vaunted SEC. The Utes defense out-hustled these guys in every way. Kudos for a great scheme and an outstanding game!
AggieBlue | 7:48 a.m. Jan. 3, 2009
I couldn't be happier for the Utes and how the dismantled Bama, and showed who was the much better team! Coach Anderson put together an incredible defense that Bama couldn't stop. I am so glad he is heading to Logan. I live in Virginia and it will be fun going to the office on Monday and rub it in to all of the guys that think that football stops at the Mississippi, and how the ACC and SEC are such powerhouses.

What a victory! Wow! There's always one way to shut up those Coug trolls: doing it on the field. Those boys are strangely quiet this morning.

I was the only one screaming loud for you here and no one could do anything about it because I out-ranked the people in the room.......LOL!!

Go Utes!!!!!!

Just showing the SEC conference what talent we have here in the Mountain West. Utes were awesome in showing our their talent. Great job coaching staff and all. You made us folks here home in UTAH proud.. (I'm a Coug fan by the way)... Go Utes!

"There's always one way to shut up those Coug trolls:"

Even after the greatest victory in Utah football history, a few "Utah fans" just can't resist reverting back to little brother mode.

Someday, maybe, they'll grow up and overcome that inferiority complex.

A true Utah fan revels in Utah's victories without having to use them as some sort of BYU measuring stick.

On the other hand, a "Utah fan" who can't resist using EVERY Utah victory as a BYU-bashing stick, isn't really a true Utah fan, just a pathetic BYU-hater.

CONGRATULATIONS UTES!

been that excited about watching a defense play. allowing only a td and a field goal to a top ten team. pretty exciting. if the aggies play only half as good as the utes last night, they will go bowling. go aggies.
HEY BYU!!! | 4:27 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009
Just to let you know...you did the whole "QUEST FOR PERFECTION" wrong. You really should do what Utah is doing...it seems to work ;)

GO UTES!!!!!

Not bad my friend...not bad
Shame on to shut up | 6:49 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009
Most of the comments have been from BYU fans congratulating Utah, but you have to go slam BYU... but BYU could turn it around and say that this just justifies and validates BYU's program, because BYU lost two regular season games to two great MWC programs at Utah and TCU, both games at home. The bowl loss to UA is just embarrassing and a sign that they need to get better concentration.
Way to go Utah, ya done good! Revel in this for 8 months and we'll see you on the field next year.
Ute Man | 9:26 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009
The Ute D, the MVP's of this game! BJ, was good, but the D stepped up, when it mattered most!

Props to the classy Alabama fans! And props to the classy Cougar fans!

This game was all about RESPECT, for the Ute program & fans, for the MWC, but mainly for football in the State of Utah!

The state of Utah has arrived! It's been on the scene for a while, but the media don't want to acknowledge it! They want to keep living in their little fantasy land! Not to mention, they're probably getting paid by the BCS to hype the BCS conference schools! ESPN, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, take your pick, none of them gave Utah a chance, because they play in the MWC! Newsflash, the MWC has arrived, we rousted the PAC-10 this year, and we made the SEC look foolish!

If you aren't going to give us our JUST DUE, we will TAKE IT on the field of play!

Honk if you sacked John Parker Wilson!!!! Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk!!!!!
Ute Man | 10:14 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009
Just a thought, but if Wilson's middle name began with a "B" instead of a "P", he might of thought that the "JBW" sticker the Utes wore, was in honor of him..........."You're so vain, you probably think this "sticker" is about you, you're so vain."............hahahahahahahahaha.
Juss' playin', seriously! nothing personal against Wilson, I'm just makin' a fun observation. And playin' off the pre-game hype hoisted on the Tide by all the media.

Home from a great game. Thanks to all the classy Alabama fans we met. Hopefully the Ute fans represented us as well. Great win, great season, thank you coaches for having the team prepared and of course congratulations to a great group of young men who never gave up all season long.
