From the wires: Sugar Bowl was indeed a mismatch

As a cougar fan, I cheered for the Utes whole heartedly. It was great to see them destroy the vaunted SEC team, supposedly one of the best in the nation. Certainly, didn't look that way last night. Bama looked worse than BYU against the Utes defense.
And still there will be little or no talk of the Utes being national champs. What a farse.
Utah proved they are worthy to be in the title discussion. Now, if only other members of the AP would award them the split title they deserve.
As a true-blue BYU fan, I congratulate Utah for an amazing game and year. You have made all of Utah and the entire MWC proud.
But didn't you like the present I gave yah?
Santa
Yes, SLC give them a National Championship parade.
Go Cougars!

If Florida wins, no question the Utes will have an arguement and should garner plenty of votes in the AP poll.
If Oklahoma wins, they will have a tougher arguement, particularly if Texas also wins. Simply because people will argue that the Big-12 was stronger than the SEC and the Utes "could never go undefeated in the Big-12."
My prediction:
With a Florida win the Utes will be guarenteed the #2 spot. USC should not be ranked ahead on the fact that their only common opponent, Oregon State, was an "L" for USC and a "W" for Utah. further, Penn State would drop as would OU in this scenario. That leaves Texas, who clearly will not have the resume the Utes have owing to their loss to TTech. Also, a Florida win over OU lessens the mystique of Texas' win over OU.
