Genpo Roshi has been my teacher for over 5 years, I look forward to each Sunday's meditation and talk.
After 12 years of very strict Catholic education with either nuns or brothers I welcome the opportunity to do spiritual practice without having the guilt of possibly offending God or fearing the gates of hell. Even after a profound Christian "born again" experience which initially made me very joyous, it was my experience that there was no room for me to be a human being due to the strictness of my interpretation of that experience.
The teaching of Zen under Genpo Roshi are open to anyone of any religions tradition. If one disagrees with the wording of the talks it is easy to translate the wording into those of one's own religion. The teaching are very effective in helping humans in becoming more real, compassionate,, and just better human beings.
At 64 yrs of age no longer witnessing the attitude that my religion is the true religion is a relief to this old guy
