How about purchasing less fansy gas guzzling Ford F350's. One less and you could plow our street that has caused damage to my car by you not. By the way, I will be sending you the repair bill. Also, how about not letting police officers drive their city owned squad cars home if they reside outside of 5 miles from any Kaysville border. That should save money. No more excuses, plow the roads, the 15 year draught cycle is over. Cut your budgets in other areas that do not affect public safety.

One option is to offer lower taxes or other enticement such as free food to volunteers with snowplows who help the city. Win Win situation here. I am sure many people would jump at the opportunity.

"Unfortunately we're still in December," Peters said earlier this week. "We have a couple months of snow ahead."

Try 5-6 more months of snow and then another 2-3 at the end of 2009.

Props to the people doing the main roads, they are usually well cleared and early. I can also vouch for the neighborhood streets not being done, ever. In six winters, our street has been plowed once.

If citizens wonder why they don't get adequate snow removal, they need look no further than the top levels of their local governments. The salaries at the top of the pay scale is RIDICULOUS!
It'll be just like the local governments to lay off the 40,000 per year snow plow drivers and keep the 100,000 per year bureaucrats!

I have lived in West Jordan for 14 years and I have seen the snow plows down my steet once! And yet, we always get notices that if we don't move our cars off the street, we will be fined! The wind blows all the snow off a horse pasture on to our street and it takes four wheel drive to just get out of our drive ways onto the street. And no, we don't live way out west, we live not far from West Jordan High!We are thankful that our neighbor digs us out every year with his bobcat. Maybe this year, we will see our road by April!
