I would just like to defend Repo. I went and saw it and in my opinion it was fantastic. It is definitely not for everyone, but the small fan base it already has is incredibly dedicated. It is much like Rocky Horror in the sense that it is aimed towards a very different group of people... not your normal mainstream audience. And one more thing... Rocky Horror wasn't accepted back when it was filmed either, in fact they were turned down by almost every studio because they thought it would be such a bust

That was more of a summary of the plot than a review. I know what happened. I saw it. The only thing you said besides that was that it didn't keep your attention and that you don't like Saw's director (I'll agree with you on that one).

To ME, this movie says some fun things about humanity, like are we ruled by genetics or the choices we make... or are those choices also ruled by genetic fate. Stuff like that draws my attention. I don't think they did the best job, but it's very novel and has a nice low-budget feel at times (I know that's probably not a positive to everyone). And after my second time watching it, I really have some of those songs stuck in my head!

So, you know, be more thorough. This is hardly a review. i don't even know what to disagree with you about besides that I liked it and you didn't.

I'd have to agree with Sara and Jacob. This was not really a review, but more of a rant. Repo was actually an interesting movie, and I would have to say it could be the Rocky Horror of our Generation. When it was first released The Rocky Horror Picture Show had small audiences, negative reviews, and was not popular until the costumed showings at midnight.

Look at the huge following it has, and tell me that it doesn't appeal to a cult audience. It's already being shadowcast is several different cities JUST like Rocky Horror.

No this is not Rocky Horror. I don't think they were trying to be. The music is good. It is showing how we have become a society of trying to look the best no matter at what cost, and how our love for someone can cloud our judgement. I was there when Rocky Horror took off, now it is time for something new. As a huge fan of Rocky Horror and Tim Curry, it is now time for something new. We have it in Repo!!!!! As I said before the music is awsome. I can watch it over and over. However, this is not to say that you are no entitled to your opinon as we all are. That is what makes us who we are.

I'm going to have to agree with the people here who think this wasn't a review. I haven't seen the actual film, but have been listening to the music for some time, now. In particular, I find I like 'At the Opera Tonight' and 'Zydrate Anatomy'.

.... I don't know exactly what I was expecting with this film, but I was pretty disappointed. I didn't find it innovative in any sense... The gore wasn't really over the top or anything. The whole gothic, futuristic, quasi-asian look has been done a million times before and to me really plays into a conventional/hollywood idea of what cool is. Ogre didn't have enough screen time. Mag was the most interesting and enjoyable musically speaking, to me... I can imagine however, that it makes a really cool stage show! To me, the film was forgettable :(

I listen to your reviews on x96, and find that your opinions usually determine if I'm seeing something in a theatre vs. a visit to red box. More often than not I tend to agree with your critiques, although, I can sense that personally we have different tastes. However, as much as I have an appreciation for fine films, I also have a huge place in my heart for cult flicks and trash movies with proper finesse. So I just wanted to point out, that I feel you overlooked the potential of Repo achieving major cult status. It may not be "No Country for Old Men", but time will tell if its the new "Rocky Horror Picture Show" . I realize that the Deseret audience will typically not appreciate this Gothic Rock Opera, but as a listener to your radio programs, I felt I had to let you know how much enjoyment I derived from Repo! The Genetic Opera.

Not much of a review here is there?
And quick question, why does the presence of Paris Hilton tell you everything you need to know? She has a relativly small part, which she does justice for once. Just stating that her being there is representative the film is misleading, in my opinion.

i loved the rocky horror show. i hated this.
it was trying too hard to be "dark" and "gothic" when it should have concentrated on developing a storyline. if it didnt want to do that, it should have been completely camp and ott to make it entertaining, like rocky horror. but this movie actually took itself seriously, which scared me. it actually tries to have a sad touching moment at the end which falls flat, because there has been so little character development that u dont care about the characters at all. however, i will give it credit. it is an excellent idea for a story, and it has some important messages. give us some characters we care about and some good songs and u might have a good movie.
