Did she offer to share the meth? That would have gone a long way with a lot of neighbors to forget the indecent exposure and disorderly conduct and wanton destruction of private property. Glad that the investigating officers put the child and the bird under protective custody.

Who says Provo's not a party town?
I feel..... | 10:26 a.m. Jan. 2, 2009
sad for the poor little boy witnessing the whole thing and even worse, being exposed to such an environment. I hope he has sober aunts and uncles nearby who can get custody of him and keep him away from his drug addict mom....

INDECENT EXPOSURE! | 11:38 a.m. Jan. 2, 2009
If this was a man, he'd have the indecent exposure charge too. Why wasn't she charged with it??? The doubt standard in society is sickening.

Where did you learn to write?

The Headline is gramatically problematic: "Police arrest woman after nude rampage" suggests that the POLICE were engaging a nude rampage and then they arrested a woman when they were done.

LOL!

Tasers work great on out of control drug users and keep those nearby, including officers and the suspect from getting injured.

If the department hasn't issued or considered issuing tasers, this may be a great New Year's resolution. Good luck guys!

The Headline to me is completely understandable to me, I guess it's all just a matter of how it reads in your head. But I can imagine that must have sparked your interest reading that headline under that impression!

Oh I love any article that has the words "nude" and "rampage"
Mr. SMerritt

The headline is EXACTLY why I read the article! Maybe they should change it to "Nude rampage leads to bird custody" or "Defenseless bird forced to observe nude rampage." Those would also attract my attention...

I love how the cops found the bird and turned it over to animal control before they turned the kid over to child protective services. Nice

I was recently skiing in Utah and was amazed at the number of large billboards on the freeways indicating the amount of meth use by women in Utah. Is this the "in" thing to do if you live in Utah? It sounds like everyone is doing this. Must be a fun place where all the women run around naked.

Maybe she was from Iowa and got lost on a bender. The whole meth drug thing is very sad.

Sara, I remember you in my English class at BYU. Fun to see your name here now and then. I wonder where you hear about these stories.

God help that poor, traumatized child... I shudder to think of what that 6 year old must have seen.

glad they took care of the bird before the child
Nobody said they took care | 5:24 p.m. Jan. 2, 2009
of the bird first, although it probably took less time to do than to arrange foster care for a real live child.
However they did it, this points out to me the fallacy of the idea of legalizing drugs. Drugs change behavior--and not usually for the better.

What about the office who was the victim of a nasty bite? Two inchies higher and...YIKES!

Regarding meth use in Utah. for some reason, ultra conservative areas of the country have huge problems with meth.

You can draw a map over the "red" states, or heavily conservative regions, and they completely parallel the regions with the highest per capita use of meth.

Nobody said they took care ....of the bird first,

well, the affidavit clearly states differently

here is the sequence of custody:

"Officers found the bird and turned it over to animal control and then removed the child and placed him in the custody of the Division of Child and Family Services for his own protection, the affidavit states."

I must be awkward to try to subdue a naked person on a rampage.

This is a very sad story. I feel guilty for laughing so much.
Geez | 11:41 p.m. Jan. 2, 2009
Sure take a shot at the cops! Then sleep in peace at night. Im sure they told animal control to take the bird, while they tried to let the little boy understand why they were fighting, and hauling mommy off. Use your brains!!!! Thats why they took the bird first!

This woman needs help. Pray for her if you're the praying type..

How come editors always cut my comments? All I said was that this story was deserving of pictures.
Jim | 4:41 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009
Some people have absolutely NO MODESTY! Like everyone wants to see a naked body or something? Like no one knows what one looks like.
LOOK AT ME | 5:29 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009
I'm sure everyone got a sore eye full.

Maybe they took the bird into custody first because it was flying around or easily caught. Maybe, hopefully, the little boy was sound asleep in this bed and they let him sleep until it was time to wake him up to go into custody. Let's pray that that's the case, because then he didn't have to witness his mother's naked rampage and out-of-control behaviors.

I wonder what her mental health history is.
Wake UP Utah county | 11:49 p.m. Jan. 3, 2009
WHY does not anybody write the real story of drug abuse in Utah county!!
This is a typical story of a teen mother with drugs!!!
In JUST 6 months there have been more then 5 drug mother incidents involving at least 10 children. These mothers were 20 - 30 yrs of age. Each teen mothers... these cases include 4 dead mothers of overdose or criminal (a murder just last week).

There is NOthing to joke about this... I just wonder WHEN the community will wake up and do something about this.
