The Governor has made the right decision!

I have participated in managing 3 Inaugurals for Utah's past Governors, they were great and historic events, but our economic times were great as well.

These are very different times, and our State and Nation's economic future is not clear. Most citizens continue to be uneasy about which direction our economy will take. So in this time of uncertainty the cost savings as well as the message that it sends, is the RIGHT ONE.

Saving one job or a program that will serve the elderly, the youth or the sick, is worth trading in the grand experience for a heavy coat and the continued tradition of the Ceremony. Our President has been sworn in on the steps of the US Capitol since James Monroe in 1817, wind, rain or snow, only a couple of times has it been driven inside.

Our President-elect should take a page from Governor Huntsman.

To Aidylmarie:

As a Utahn and huge David Archuleta fan, I am excited that he will be performing at the governor's second inaugural. I know he will make Utah and the gov proud! I think it is right that the governor has scaled back the celebration because of the economy.

I will look forward to welcoming some of you international fans when David performs his first solo concert here. I can hardly wait!

Saving Money????

If saving money is the reason, why is the Governer having 200+ National Guardsmen setting up and taking down chairs at an average cost of $350 per soldier? $75,000 just for someone to set up chairs? Thats pretty steep when it could be hired for much less then that.

What day is the inauguration?
