If Utah can do it, the US can. I hope Rep Chaffetz can get this through.

It is worth trying. I am glad Jason is working on this.

Operating on a budget is normal for every household and should be normal for the government. It's crazy that people are okay with the US being the worst run business in the world. Good work Jason!

Jason Chaffetz is a liberal

How will he balance the budget? Oh ya, he'll ask Michael Dukakis.

Cynthia

That 'Jason Chaffetz is a Liberal' guy is hysterical! It MUST be true since some annonymous weirdo on the internet said it. LOL!

I applaud his attempt to do this as well as the attempt of many before. I also don't think it will go anywhere but that's no reason to quit trying. If he only tried when guaranteed success Mr. Chaffetz wouldn't be the new Rep.

One thing is different this year- Congress is severely underestimating how fed up the people are with their failures. You always have the half-witted folks who can only see along party lines but that's not the average American. Most of us don't care about parties, we care about results. I only hope something can be done before we have complete economic failure but I'm honestly not hopeful.

Good job in doing what you said you were going to do Jason! Keep that up, no matter the odds.

John Anderson

Chaffetz can balance the budget by bringing the troops home from Iraq.

Obama is not going to do it. Just google "Redefining the Role of the U.S. Military in Iraq" Look for a New York Times article.

If we weren't running the budget on a deficit we would not be able to pay for this war.

We do not need an new ACT to balance the budget. Congress already has the authority to do it. What is needed is congressmen who obey the constitution. In 2001, the Utah Legislature, without a dissenting vote, passed HJR-15, a resolution to rescind all of Utah's applications to Congress to hold an Article V Convention, or what's often called a "Constitutional Convention," Con-con for short. Google that for more information.

Email me as well, I would be happy to provide more information.
