hmmm.... | 1:53 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
This could open things up for Kruger and hurt their running game a bit.....

This is great news for the Utes-
Wow | 2:03 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
On one level I am a little sad because I really wanted to watch Kruger go up against Smith-

However- this hurts Alabama- I am pumped for Friday!

Go UTES!

Go Utes!!! Roll the tide up and send them home...

Never mind, Utah is still out manned at every position, especially coaching...

Hmmmm. That's good for my bet on Utah. Makes the 10 pt spread a little easier to secure.
Re: Utah fan... | 2:49 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008

Bama's QB is not as good as Johnson, FYI, they hardly let him throw it. Without power blocking Bama's run game will be much more vulnerable, and if they try to go over the top our DB's have prover that they can stop the big play and get interceptions. I think this is the perfrect opponent for Utah, as their D will match well agaisnt the run attack of the Tide. Remember the Utes gave up less than 100 yards running against every run-based team they've faced. Don't count us out yet. This WILL be a close game

Looks like the comments of a jealous Cougar fan who's very average team was outmanned at every position by 7-5 Arizona!

Kruger's future | 3:13 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
Had Kruger had a big game against Smith, his draft stock would've been so high that it would've been tough for him to stay. This may be a catalyst for Kruger to be around next year.
Too Bad | 3:36 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
for Kruger. This would have helped his stock and would have been a very good measuring stick of where he is at. Other interesting matchup to watch is Sean Smith on Julio Jones.

let the cougars and everyone else in the nation open up the little respect they have for the mighty Utes even more. Kruger is in a lose: lose situation now.
When the Patriots drafted Matt Cassell, they described him as the second best quarterback in the nation...he was Leinart's backup. I'll pump up the match up...Smith's backup could be the second best lineman in the nation. GO UTES! Kruger's a monster!
sob | 4:52 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
guess this is what happens when you put them near bourbon street for a week
Thank God! | 6:14 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
That is huge.....but Utah...stay focused! They are still an unreal team! You can do it! Upset baby!

GO UTES!
Consider this | 6:17 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
Utah has also struggled, A LOT, against good defenses. True Utah has more of a passing game, but don't forget, Bama's defense is comparable, if not even better in some respects, than Utah's. Bama has the muscle to give Utah a beat down.

The agent who got Smith suspended could be the MVP of the Sugar Bowl. Is this agent an Auburn fan?

Coffee, Wilson- Paul Kruger. Paul Kruger- Coffee, Wilson.

Seriously, this could be huge. This might help the U defense treat JP Wilson the same way they treated Carson Palmer, Dustin Almond, Tyler Palco, etc, etc, in bowl games. Chuck and duck, John Parker, 'cause you just might get pounded!!

Go Utes!!

In BJ we trust.
Smith's game out | 10:49 p.m. Dec. 29, 2008
Against Tulane when Smith was out Bama won 20-6. But.....

Scored only 1 offensive TDs
11 first downs
99 yards rushing
172 yards of total offense
23:25 time of possession
3 sacks given up in the 2nd quarter alone.

I like Utah's odds a whole lot better. Best lineman in the country is out? Ouch

Sorry I'm late. Just checking the itinerary for the big migration to the Big Easy.

I project 6 false starts in the first half. If our ends can get to JW early, the game could get out of hand fast.

The only thing bad about this is you'll get the excuses about how they weren't at full strength, etc.

Wouldn't be great if we could spank them good.

Well we'll see y'all at the big hoot'nanny before the game.

Go Utes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Utah don't get to excited!!!, Smith has a very good back up. BAMA moves their lineman in & out all the time. Johnson has back Smith a good bit, they have another lineman that is just as good as Smith. I see you guys are looking at the Tulane game, Don't that is misleading. Also they changed in the AUBURN game and ran right rather than left (Smith's side). This will not slow them much. I am not a BAMA fan but have watched them this year and they are "good" at what they do run, run make d move 7 or 8 in the box to stop the run, then throw to TE covered by linebacker.

>>Now they have a little bit of an excuse for Utah beating them...<<

I'm positive the Nicktator will find an excuse should Utah win. Shame, he's not as classy as his buddy Belichick.

Smith being out allegedly makes it easier to get to John Parker Wilson who IMO is not as good as Max Hall

HEY UTES THE SUPERDOME IS GOING TO BE ROCKIN FOR THE TIDE. JUST WAIT TILL SHORT YARDAGE AND YOU SEE 360LB CODY AT FULLBACK. SABAN DOES RESPECT UTAHS ABILITY AND WILL HAVE THE TIDE READY. ROLL TIDE
I'm mad. | 9:25 a.m. Dec. 31, 2008
What they did was give us a handicap. They wanted preserve the reputation of the SEC in the event of an upset.
