Another black eye for the Child Protective Services. I am an Elementary teacher and have been very hesitant about reporting abuse after seeing how previous cases were handled. If it weren't the law, I wouldn't. No confidence.
If Willie Jessop says it, it must be true. How many wives do you have Willie? More than one is a felony. You want to be left alone... obey the law. Until then, what you have to say is worthless.
Yeah, once I heard the report, I rolled my eyes.
Texas CPS are the wrong people to be investigating at this point. After the "underage pregnant girls" turned out to be girls of age, and the "physically abused children" turned out to really not be abused, you can't believe anything they say. Right now I would imagine the Texas CPS has a huge interest in manipulating data so they can save face, and that is not good for justice.
Nobody can believe anything the Texas CPS says at this point.
Child Protective Services, especially in Texas, is one of the most unprofessional angencies acting under the auspecies of the state government. I have no sympathy for them at all.
Part of the problem is that Warren Jeffs thought he could get away with his criminal behavior and reality was that he couldn't. According to the former FLDS leader in Canada (Blackmore?) on Larry King, Jeffs was informed by attorneys about it being illegal to marry underage girls. Jeffs thumbed his nose at officials and went ahead and did it anyway and devised an elaborate plan (walls, guard tower, isolation, obedience, indoctrination) so as not to get caught. He believed that he wasn't putting his people at risk, when in fact committing these alleged criminal acts was putting these people at risk. The moral of the story is never believe you can plan well enough to escape detection and prosecution. Jeffs should have asked his attorneys what happens if he gets caught. Prior to committing some of these acts such as the marriage to the 12 year-old, he saw some of the consequences to his behavior, yet apparently he continued on the same path. The FLDS should have realized that it was taking a risk and it should have known the consequences. Anytime an entity wants to break the law, it should seek out legal advice regarding possible outcomes.
I in 4..hmmm. Even if that were true, which is suspect..still bettern than the population of Texas at large...cya cps!
So Willie wants to crucify CPS and Texas for doing its job? Blackmore marries underage girls to. In fact till warren was put in prison, they basically traded underage girls to be married off.
One isnt any better than the other. And what legal expenses didnt Flds incur with the women and children???? If you read the last part of Willie's letter, he thanks the tireless effort of lawyers representing the women and children without PAY!
So, Willie, it seems Texas isnt your Money Problem, Lawyers representing FLDS in the UEPtrust is your legal expense! Continue to be the victim willie, I for one don't feel sorry for you.
Gee Whiz,
"If Willie Jessop says it, it must be true. How many wives do you have Willie? More than one is a felony. You want to be left alone... obey the law. Until then, what you have to say is worthless."
It's not a felony to have more than one person who you have sex with and call your wife since freedom of speech allows you to call a thousand people who you have sexual relations with your wife, your mate, your companion, your partner or any other number of things even your "honey" or "sweetheart."
There is no proof that Jessop has legally married more than one woman or taken out more than one marriage license therefore it isn't a felony or against the law since polygamy isn't the same thing as bigamy. One is legal (polygamy) and the other is illegal (bigamy). Polygamy is having more than one sexual partner while bigamy is to be legally married to more than one woman.
Jessop can marry a thousand women in the FLDS Temple if he chooses to do so as long as he doesn't legally marry more than one woman.
One only needs to take a look at the revolting photos of Warren Jeffs french kissing the 14 year old to get the correct picture of what's really going on in the FLDS community!
The FLDS ability to break the law and hurt innocent children is about to end. There is proof...and truth will win out. I am willing to believe that all FLDS do not participate in these illegal acts, but the ones that do need to understand that it is not ok.
It sounds like willie was schooled by Opps @ 3:06. If either of them had read the entire report they would have seen that their was 12 CONFIRMED CASES OF SEXUAL ABUSE.
Opps sounds like all the other teachers that I know, the only work they do iS go on strike to get raises they don't deserve.
If willie is so concerened about all of the pregnant teens, this is an exellant time to stand up & be a man and start taking care of your own girls, then you can move on to the other sexually abused children.
Willie Jessop says that Texas leads the nation in underage pregnancies. That is too bad, but still better to have teens getting pregnant by teens than teenage girls being taken advantage of by 50 year old men. Very different Willie.
Well, I think it's high time some of these FLDS families now declared innocent sue the CPS for pain and suffering and damages.
Everyone is still acting like the ranch was one big household, and lumping everyone together: if one is guilty, they all are guilty. This is completely incorrect from a civil or criminal justice standpoint. Families -- identified by the mother as separate households -- are legally autonomous entities or should be. CPS and LE should have done due dilligence and investigated and prosecuted the handful of families (which turned out to be no more than 5-10 out of 150 or so) that practiced underage marriage and not sloppily raiding and pillaging the entire community, and hauling off all their kids.
Yep, like I've been saying from the start, this is like hauling every Catholic of to a concentration camp because a few priests molested some kids. I was so happy when the Texas Supreme Court saw through the CPS exaggerations and returned the kids home.
Hopefully the rest of the world will see how big the trouble makers Flora Jessop and Carolyn Jessop are.
and all the dorfs....it's time you accept responsibility for this horrific act and make a change where change is due. It's 2008 people...let's get on the roll!
Let the FLDS complain that DNA is wrong also - - - the guilty need to be prosecuted and if found guilty they need to Repent from afar with Jeffs in the Picky
everything correctly, but at least they are trying and not turning a blind eye which is more than I can say for most!
The CPS and Texas law enforcement have filed so many false reports they should all be taken to court for falsifing legal documents, and put in jail. They acted feloniously and with predjudice with illegal search and seizures without cause. Over time the CPS has been proven to be acting out of hate and for any other citizens this means jail time. We all know what polygamy is but it is not as serious a crime that it warrants a national uproar. What is the uproar is how the CPS uses personal hate to make judgement and can so easily falsify records and documents to suit their zealous acts. Then operate outside the law to commit kidnapping of children from their parents. This is the real crime, and CPS oversteps its right to inflict harm on families and children. These interogations of the children are criminal and lenghty to the point of being mind control and brainwashing tactics to get the children to say what the CPS wants to hear. The CPS, the real criminals, have caused these children more harm and inflicted more damage on the minds of these children than any cult or sect could dream up.
Whenever the topic of polygamy comes up, why does everyone assume that it is all about sex? Plural marriage is not a sexually oriented lifestyle. A loving and sharing relationship among sisters and a common husband certainly includes sexual expression, but the correct emphasis is on a lifestyle that will develop "Charity"-- the example of love given to us by the Christ-- to love completely and unselfishly demonstrating unrestrained service to others. This is a goal that all humanity (certainly all 'Christians') should be engaged in, in EVERY social and societal context. Some who attempt to develop this Godly trait in the context of plural marriage become distracted from the real purpose of plural marriage. On the other hand, most of Christianity never gets the concep at all, let alone strive to develop it in their own lives.
"Faith, Hope, and Charity, but the greatest of these is Charity" (God like Love).
"And above all these things put on acharity, which is the bond of perfectness."
"And except ye have acharity ye can in nowise be saved in the kingdom of God"
CPS cannot be fixed. It must be shutdown now. People who have had their families destroyed by CPS must band together. How about a class action law suit? How about getting together for marches (get the media involved). Publish you case on the web. Look at all the sites on the web that say CPS is corrupt.
