Collins is a good guy. | 1:38 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008
We know he's not an amazing player, but he works hard. I don't see him being held on to much longer, but I would love to see him come back and work for the Jazz organization after his playing career is over. He would be a great coach, or even a good analyst. Very well-spoken kid.

The only thing worse that Millsap bieng out is having Caddy Shaq back

There is only one player in the entire league worse than Collins, and that is Collins. It's debatable which one is worse.

Fes play last night, I bet Jarron saw his value dropping and now he's OK?

Leave Jarron on the bench. Play Kofous and Fes!

I kind of feel the same way as my foul mouthed compadre. Collins is, quite litterally the least prductive player in the league. Intangibles are all fine and dandy but when your tangibles show that you are the least effective and productive player in the league on both ends of the court I don't think intangables mean a hill of beans.

That being said, it will be nice to have another body to throw at Yao tonight. the young guys have had trouble against top tier big men this season. My only hope is that Collins stays behind Kosta in the rotation. It would be a tragedy if an unproductive on his way out veteran took minutes from a productive talented rookie.

Any help they can get would be fine with me.

Defense and more defense above all else.Above ego.Above stats.Above a big paycheck.

Nice game loved the young guys coming through.

Collins made himself available for last nights game before watching koufas and Fes play. Collins knows he's in his last Jazz contract. He has nothing to gain coming back early other than to help the team.

Amen to that, brother!

Saying Collins is a horrible player is just stupid he plays within himself, doesn't kill you with bad shots or turnovers of offense and plays extremely hard and solid defense. He isn't a star or anything but when he is needed he plays solidly.

No points, rebounds or blocks make for an awful player. Collins has all of these charachteristics

Magnus and other experts...

I'm sorry the church league cut you from its teams - a first in church basketball. Your expert analysis, insight and perseverance in basketball were sorely overlooked. Your presence would have been phenomenal. Thank goodness you are able to right the Jazz's ship. Keep on keepin' on...

Collins has stayed in this league because he has value. If he were let go today, I guarantee you a number of teams would be looking at him. Hmm - a few years ago San Antonio was taking a serious look at him - and you as I well imagine.
Koufas and Fes...... | 5:32 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008
do it for me. The game last night was worth all the trouble I went to to watch it. The Jazz were alive. Looks like we have a winning roster right there. Koufas was amazing. In my book he is a starter. Don't wake up Boozer, let him keep sleeping. In my book, Koufas can outplay and out defend Boozer any day of the week. He is a serious ballplayer.

And that is also his biggest problem.

When he is gone you just never notice.

Say What you will | 7:33 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008
but Collins is a CLASS act, a fine player, gentleman, and most importantly a team player. Oneday soon, he'll be a successful coach in the NBA!!!

Pretty brave of you to drop the old church ball reference there. Let me throw down some numbers for you so that you can overcome your obvious bias and ignorance.

First of all the basis for the statement "Collins is the least effective palyer in the league". Collins Player Efficiency Rating(PER) for the last 5 years has been in the Single digits, last year it was the worst in the league for PF/C positions.

Second te refute the common belief that he doesn't hurt you with turnovers. The only reason he averages so few TOs is because he doesn't play many minutes. His turnover rate (TO/Pos) averages around 16% over the last 3 years. The only people on the Jazz team that turn the ball over at a higher rate than Collins were Williams, AK, and Fesenko.

I never said he wasn't a class act or a great character guy or locker room influence or even a fairly intelligent ball player.

I speak strictly from evaluating his performance on the court not his quality as a human being.

Collins may be a great person, but with all his years of experience he is not as good as Fes and Koufas are right now! He should remain a cheerleader on the bench and play only if the Jazz only have 4 other players to dress and don't have time to sign a D-League player to a 10 day contract.

P.S. I never understood why they resigned him, I figured he must have been the best practice player ever!
