When you are taught that Satan and Jesus were bothers in the pre-existance and God lived as a man on the world Kolob and that you ar set apart as the true church, you are deceived. There are no archeological facts to prove the Mormon Religion. The problem is with religion itself. You do not follow a religion but have a relationship. The end is near and I wonder how many Mormons or Christians really know Jesus. The only way to know Him is to study and read the New Testament. "Will you know Me when I come again?"

This is another example of unfair treatment of a group by so-called Christians. However, we can always count on them all temporarily putting aside their disdain for each other when they unite and focus their attacks on another group, Gays & Lesbians.

When you attack good loving families and attempt to vote them second class citizens in the name of your lord, don't be surprised when karma comes back to bite you in the butt.

It's hard to feel much sympathy for LDS members who so viciously attacked my family all in the name of their god.

We need to continue to support Focus on Family and Tony Perkins' Family Research Council. Both of those groups do amazing things to help the cause of the family and traditional values. We need to look past some of their beliefs and focus on the good they do in the world.

Why on earth are people so ticked off about Glenn's religion in the first place? They have no reguard of his personal views of our country and go for his religion. We as Latter Day Saints get this treatment ever second of ever day. And the Evangelical movment have more than proved they dont want to find out the truth. They just listen to misinformed people and then spread that lie around. Thats all this is anymore is spreading around a misinformed view of our religion through the ranks of the so called True Christians. Even though our church is the only one that truely follows Christ's gospel and prinicples that he taught when he was on the earth. So how those "Christians", so called, think that when christ died so did apostles and prophets and revelations from GOD. Em.ok.a.......NO! If this is true then God is not God. And many christians wont open their eyes and see it.

Some are using this dissing by FoF to question the LDS position on Prop 8, drawing incongruous parallels. They do not understand that truth remains truth regardless of the opposition, or those who believe it is not so. Even if there were no other supporters aligned with us, the LDS position would remain the same on Prop 8. Sure, it is uncomfortable and disappointing to be attacked by some-time friends. But, we know our Captain and the cause for which we fight.

Okay... you asked for a definition... there it is. Sounds like every religion known to man... yet you are trying to put a negative twist on it. Veneration, if you do not know, means a reverence or respect for... also, keep in mind that Christ was considered to be false or unorthodox as well...

Regarding Prop 8... people were asked to vote on a definition of marriage as to whether it pertains to one man and one woman or not. How one can perceive that as hate is beyond me. It was a democratic process (a right) that was used to determine a privilege.

Beck may well deserve this treatment - he isn't much different than the haters that pulled his interview. He can be a cold, arrogant voice for hate. The Christian right does not represent Christ. The Mormon Church does; but it's reactionary right wing members are not always good barometers of Mormon/Christian values. The far left is often similarly off the mark. Look for those who embrace peace, love, brotherhood, respect for others, who want to care, share and build up the well-being of all and not just themselves. Our Church President, his Counselors, the Twelve are great examples to follow along with the Savior. Our President-elect seems to have Christ-like virtues (not on the same level as our inspired Church leaders, but a lot closer than a Romney, Beck, Hatch, Bush, Cheney). The list of attributes on page 126 of Preach My Gospel is a great way to analyze how far off the mark or how close to the mark the person you are listening to is. Center-left is closer to the mark than the right wing wacko's like Dobson/Beck.

I don't believe its about religion..its about money. Practice what you preach, here in Mega Church land of Texas-all the Baptist Domes--the rate of tithing is only 3%. If you profess to be Christ's only begotten..than should'nt you actually follow the teachings of the Bible??? Don't open your new hip version of the bible and throw out a few re worded passages.... Also, everytime you open your mouths and attack us..our membership roles grow. The 3% fact was quoted on air on The Dave Ramsey show and he is an Dobson christian.

What bothers me more than Dobson's response is the suggestion that Beck somehow represents "Mormons" and is being persecuted as such. Beck has written a nice story that may inspire some, but his "simplistic" posturing as a so-called political or social commentator is not helpful. He embarasses me and I cringe whenever he is associated with the Church. So, while I do not condone Dobson's bigoted action, at the same time I dismay at the thought that this bolsters Beck's credentials as a "representative" of the Church. Nothing like being stuck between a rock and a hard place!

Just look at all these comments from people who are wilting like little flowers in the face of bigotry and discrimination.

Now compare having a little interview about a little Christmas book nixed with having a marriage license nullified, or having adoption rights outlawed, or having surrogacy contracts unrecognized in the courts.

And you have the audacity to cry "bigotry!"

Come on. The people have spoken. Move on. Most Christians believe your religion is false. It's been their way for 2000 years. Your religion is nontraditional, and you know what happens to things that are not traditional.

I don't perceive any problem here. The actions of FOF and other similar groups and individuals are part of prophecy. Hate, anger, persecution will continue (at an increasing rate)against the Church of Jesus Christ, until the Second coming of the Savior. We know that.It should not be surprising. Ironically, with all the hate occurring toward the Church, it will continue to grow and expand, filling the whole earth, fulfilling it's own prophecy and destiny, as the pure and sincere in heart seek it out. In the end, there will be no fence sitters - you are either truly with Him, or you are against Him. I wish each of you the very best in your personal search for truth.

You know.....give me a break! I am gay, I live in California, and I am also LDS. My partner of 17 years and I, we both voted yes on prop 8! I think all you folks that find the LDS religion to be bigoted, I come to their defense!! We did not take any rights away from any group; rather we maintained and kept them from changing our beliefs and our RIGHTS. I suggest that if the 'gays' want equal rights, they should ask for it instead of trampling over the rights and beliefs of other in doing so! The LDS church is no more of a cult than those with narrow minds that call us that!!! I left the church for many years in search of my identity and sexual prowess, and if there is anything I learned most of all- how loving, open armed, compassionate, and accepting the LDS people really are....ESPECIALLY to those that have been through things they themselves couldn't even imagine going through! We are far from bigots! Might I suggest you are the one with a narrow-mind!

It seems that it is time that we put aside our theological differences and focus on what we have in common: family and traditional Christian values. In the coming years, we need each other to fight against those who would take away the values we hold so dear. For people to state that someone is not a Christian, to me that is showing the lack of "Christianity". I believe that pulling this article was a cowardly act. The Mormon church has gained new friends and understanding because of Prop 8, and I am glad for that. But there are still the hateful voices that area against the Mormon Church, and I am not talking about the pro-gay marriage group who has been protesting. There are two sides of the fence in how we treat our fellow men, and this group has joined forces with the militant gays. There are gays that have been very peaceful and by no means would I put them with these hatemongers.
For those who are confused if the Mormon's are Christians, go look at the artwork that is for sale at Deseret Book or read the Book of Mormon and see how many times Christ is mentioned. And one of my favorite hymns is Bruce R. McConkie's, "I Believe in Christ".

Oh, and I am one Christian that will never say "Happy Holidays", I say Merry Christmas, in honor of my Savior.

To the person who commented that God told the Evangelicals that the Mormons are a cult or are not a true religion: I rather think it is their "earthly leaders" who told them that. I don't believe God made that revelation to a false prophet. That Mormons are not "Christian" is a personal belief among Evangelicals -- there is no theology to support it, and no heavenly revelation to sustain it.

The only reason that the Evangelicals attack Mormons so viciously is because when their members actually listen to what we have to share with them, they get baptized in the LDS Church. I sense a lot of bitter mormons complaining about not being accepted by the larger Christian Coalition. The only thing a Mormon should be upset about is when someone claims they are not Christian.
James Dobson has been showing he is not biggotted and believes in what the mormon church stands for.
The real tragedy is that he doesn't yet have the courage to stand up for his own beliefs and let's his religious views be persuaded by the opinion of the multitudes.

I would not be too concerned about Dobson and the others who criticize the LDS church. In time, they will join with others and it will be all against one. Mormons want the evangelicals to view them as Christian. Mormons are upset at articles which are perceived as bias against the Mormon brand of righteousness and Christianity. I believe that those articles are unfair and ridiculous as well. But, on the Mormontimes website there is an article about how Christians should be worried about Obama. I am sure that there are few Mormons who view an article like this the same way they view the one about Beck.

These types of articles (like the Obama article) show the same arrogance and lack of objective analysis that the articles targeting the LDS Church's Christianity show, yet they are published as a warning to all Christians that voted for him that they are wrong.

Everyone has an opinion ... if you want to share yours, be willing to allow others to share theirs. If you want a more objective, kind, and truthful media ... start with your own messaging.

Just for the record, this issue with Dobson is nothing! As history has proven, those lead by the adversary in the past, failed miserably in their attempts to destroy the Church - and we lost many lives and property in the process. The Church will go forward boldly and will fill the earth.

You only see others as hostile, never dreaming that it is really YOU who is hostile to others. You see yourself as innocent! In other words, to the extent that you project and talk about others, you attempt to deal with what are really YOUR own attributes, in substitute fashion, "out there" in others! It seems to be that those attributes in other people that really grab and gall you, are--mortifyingly enough--the very ones YOU possess, but have disowned. You and so many other on these sites don't realize that YOUR projections get in the way of peaceful, reality-based relations with other people, since you're the only one seeing them through the lens of your projections- instead of having compassion for them as being just as much in the bittersweet human predicament that we ALL are!

Some are haters, others are cowards afraid of the haters. Most are just ignorant. OK. We all have our crosses to bear.

Abe Lincoln said: "Stand with anybody that stands RIGHT. Stand with him while he is right and PART with him when he goes wrong."

We can do that with the Dobsonians. On many issues, they stand right. We should stand with them while they stand for the right. When they depart from the right, we depart from them.

They may never be our friends. So what? They can be helpful allies. And we should use them as such so long as they are helpful. But there's no need to despair of cultivating them as friends. If they are honest and decent, they'll see us for what we are. If they are not, they can still be useful to accomplsh God's purposes.

The evangelical right (and Dobson followers) have hijacked the Republican party. Why was there no strong GOP candidate for the election? Because there was no way they would have voted for Romney or Guiliani and a majority of their primary votes went to Huckabee and the rest were forced off onto McCain, making McCain a "moderate" the party's choice, but he was never the "first" choice.
