We as adults can learn a lesson of what can happen when we have the absolute faith of a little child. Thank you Maylee for your example.

What a wonderful example of a family that taught the power of Faith and Prayer. I wish in Orange Park Florida, we could have articles such as this in our newspaper.Thank you for your example. Faye Mandel

Heavenly Father loves animals too. That simple.

Cottonwood Animal Hospital was probably open. They're open 24/7. Talk to your vet. Have a plan for after-hours emergencies.

** "Heavenly Father loves animals too. That simple." **

Animals and children. He embraced both Patrick & Maylee. What a wonderful story. Everyone doesn't have a "happily ever after" ending, but everyone can hope for one and know that eventually they will have one.

When God heared this Maylee's prayer he must have decided that he was needed here more than heaven. Faith precedes the miracle.

I love this story!

Great job Deseret News! We need more uplifting articles like this one.

After all, the news doesn't have to be ALL BAD.

To any readers who adopted over the holiday, please do the homework to know the location of your local emergency veterinarian hospital. Another poster mentioned the 24/7; in my little spot they are open the hours my veterinarian's office is closed. Always someone there, for an emergency.

I have two Jack Russell Terriers that I love dearly, so this story made me tearful. Thanks for sharing it. Prayer is such a wonderful gift.
I am now going to try to find out about emergency vets so that my family will be prepared.

Years ago I entered a farmyard with my pickup camper combo. The farm dogs came out and surrounded the truck in greeting. I was going very slowly and carefully trying to cut a wake through them. Suddenly I felt the truck lifting over a large luuuummmmp. I couldn't do anything but keep going to get off the dog. Nobody could believe it, but he came out ok.

Maylee Blauer holds her dog, Patrick, on Christmas Day in Sandy. The Irish Jack Russell terrier was run over by a truck in Manti, where the Blauer family lives, on Thanksgiving and presumed dead, but the feisty dog survived.
