I'd like to compliment UnderArmour for their support of the Utes this season. They have been FAR BETTER than Nike ever was. The Utes have looked extremely sharp in the UnderArmour uniforms and for UA to provide the Utes with Alabama crimson for practice is really great. THe contracat between the Utes and UA this year has been great for both.

Go Utes...Beat 'Bama!!

Get em' Kyle

As a true Ute fan, I'm spending over $2,500 for three days with my wife in New Orleans. I don't want to "simply be happy to be there". As a true Ute, we're looking for a victory. Half the state believes we will get rocked and the rest of the country believes the same. This would do a lot to propel the conference and maybe even help us get out of our lousy conference one day.

Re: True Ute

I agree that we need to win this game. I would expect the same thing if I were spending the same amount of cash.

Bama has beaten some teams soundly this year but I personally think they are beatable. Especially since we have over a month to prepare and only have one game to play. If you look at their schedule, they didn't play anyone any better than Utah did until they played Florida. I think TCU is as good or better than Georgia or LSU. Utah will have a great game plan and be ready to take Bama's best shot.

I think Utah wins a close low scoring game 16-13. I think it's all defense. Coffee will probably have a decent run or two, but we are just as fast and tackle well..

I don't think you will ever see Utah out of the MWC. The MWC needs to try to improve itself by getting rid of doormats and trading them with Boise and other competative non-BCS conferences.

RE; Get em Kyle

My wife and I will also be attending as will my parents. I echo your thoughts, I do look forward to having a great time especially new years but winning the game obviously looms large.

Realistic scouting report

Scouting reports summarized:

Alabama is too talented, big and fast on both sides of the ball to be challenged by Utah. Utah's offense will set a bowl record for fewest first downs and fewest total yards (a record set by BYU in its disastrous 1990 Holiday Bowl game against Texas A&M). Utah's offense will find itself overwhelmed in the first quarter, become demoralized and go into full panic mode. Three-and-outs and Utah turnovers will be the themes of the game. Johnson will be running for his life and will make horrible decisions. Utah's running game will be nonexistent. Utah's offense won't get close enough to the end zone to even attempt field goals. Utah's defense will spend so much time on the field that they will be utterly exhausted early in the second half. Injuries likely will be a big problem for the Utes as they collide with the much larger and stronger Alabama players. Alabama wins big.

The more idiotic and juvenile BYU fans will rub it in. The thoughtful BYU fans (all five of them) will realize that going to a BCS bowl and losing badly still makes for a better season than winning in Las Vegas.

Blow to front seven

I had not heard the status of Nai Fotu until today. This is a major blow to the run defense. He is our most physical run stopping linebacker. He will be sorely missed against Bama.

Coug

I would love to see the Utes beat Bama. But, let's be realistic people. This is Bama! They are huge (not just big). They are fast. And they know how to play football. This ain't Pitt, my friends.

Good luck! I sincerely hope you win. But, really? Do you really think it is possible?

Believer?

Big Ute fan and I did not believe that Utah would be 12-0 and in the Sugar BCS bowl. Now I do. To the "Y"ners on this board, you must still have that nasty taste in your mouth from last month. Colorado State did the MWC well, and I believe that the Utes will too. The BIG question is will the TDS show up tonight? I believe they have that nasty taste in their mouths too and are in denial that they are not that good. I wouldn't be surprised if Arizona demolishes Mendenhall tonight. So much for believing that BYU will help the other 4 MWC teamns in making a statement to the other conferences.

Utes

I watched Mississippi State give Bama a darn good game and I believe the Utes will do the same if not better.

Let's face it, we do not have the support of BYU fans which is disappointing. I have decorated my house in blue and white for tonights game and will have some BYU friends over.

We can expect few if any BYU fans to reciprocate the well wishes for our Utes. That's the kind of people they are.

The Utes are leaders and will give it their absolute best with or without support from BYU fans. The rest of the conference is behind them.

GO UTES!!!!!!!

Tonight's Cat fight

Not looking good for the cougars. Collie just got picked off in the end zone.

Byu is big like Bama, while the Wildcats are smaller and speedy. Just like Utah. I like their chances.

Go Utes!

Re: Blow to front seven

You are absolutely right about this -- horrible news. Now I am even more concerned about Alabama moving the ball at will. I am seriously considering not watching the game but simply bracing myself for a slaughter and looking at the final score the next day.

Miss St?

If by a darn good game you mean not getting to the bama 40 in the first half (while holding bama to 10) and getting run off the field in the second you mean good game. I think you meant Ole Miss, the team that handed Florida its one loss.

Turnovers will be key. No turnovers = respectable Bama win. Utah turnovers = blowout. Bama turnovers = upset

BamaGunny

Cheese and Crackers! In a more perfect world the Utes would be (and should be) number one: or, Boise. You guys are undefeated and play at the same level as any big time college football team. Of course Utah will show up and play. Bama knows this and is preparing as if they are playing any other great team. You Utah fans should hold up your heads and not listen to all of the hype and B.S. Believe it: Alabama is not looking down their noses but always respects their opponent. Period. We are looking at the Utes as an undefeated powerhouse, which you are.

Its going to be a great game. May the best team win the day.

Roll Tide!!!

have some faith

utah just have faith in the game dont listen to what the media is saying or any scouting reports. Ask jordan high when they went down to georgia and shocked the valdosta wildcats. If utah executes and just plays the game they know how to play it will be a good game.
