Come on BYU you are good but lets see you beat USC of the pack 10. You played all weak teams give me a break.
Oh, Charliedog, can't you and other Y-haters give it a rest!!
Enjoy the game for what it is . . . a game!!
While I am a Y-lover and want the Cougs to smear the Utes and Utah Staters badly every time they play each other, I also cheer on Utah and the Aggies when they play anyone else. Talking smack is boorish and shows poor sportsmanship so grow up!!
Go Cougs against Arizona (and later that night against ASU in b-ball)!! Go Utes against Alabama and here's hoping Anderson makes a quick difference in Aggie-ville!!
what ever happened to byu bball?
i guess everyone forgot about the hoops team getting excited for the anti-climatic FBS post season...
with PAC-10:
1 over 2008 UW which had no win
3 over UCLA in 2007 and 2008 that had records of 6-7 and 4-8
1 over 7-6 Oregon in 2006 bowl game
Nothing to brag about --obviously, BYU played less than average PAC-10 teams
Now we have already publicly exchanged our evaluations of the events around each respective program and each of us has set forth his/her explanation and his understanding of the other team. Consequently, I would think that, apparently, a continuation of an exchange of opinions at such a distance, will hardly add anything to that which one side has already said to the other.
Now, please find a board to post on about "Your" team and stop worrying about BYU.
Your arrogant, obnoxious barking like a puppy tied to the front porch is becoming tiring
Respect,
Cosmo.
5 Wins...Don't remind them of the facts. They live in their own world. Yea, beat a Pac-10 lower level team sinking fast and their coach is getting run out of town to Iowa doesn't make a BSC buster
If Unga gets over 20 carries, BYU wins.
Remember fellow Utah fans, we actually want the team down south to beat the team even further down south for the sake of the conference.
Hate to tell you this Eugene but I always root for BYU in fact having people over to watch the game this Saturday. My comment was about bragging. I expect BYU to beat Arizona in fact I will be rooting for BYU. Don't get so excited about a true statement. By the way I went to USC and just had to say something. Remember it's only a game and I truly do like BYU they have a lot of talent.
You know, Utes, I have no problem admitting that this season was a bit of a roller coaster. We started off thinking that next year was our year, this year was a rebuilding year because of a total lack of experience on defense.
Then, somehow "Quest for Perfection" got perverted into meaning "This year or bust," and yeah, here we are, 3rd instead of 1st in conference and grateful to be playing in any bowl, even against another mid-level mystery PAC 10 team.
But last I heard, when Utes are trying to make a case for respectability, one of your claims to fame is a beat-down of a certain top 25 bowl bound team from the south.
Isn't it a little disingenuous to boast of beating the big dog to everyone else, but at the same time kicking the pup when it is a little down?
And while we're at it, how about deluding yourself into thinking that '04 and '08 mean domination from beginning to end, but explaining that '06 and '07 BYU was bad because we should have beat you by more?
Honestly, you are as bad as politicians... Just wait till next year!!!
Fine, bring on USC. The Cougars would welcome the opportunity to play the Trojans in LES next season.
btw, didn't a bottom of the barrel PAC 10 team with a losing record knock off the Trojans last season?
---------------------
Arizona is a good team and BYU will have to play well to beat the Wildcats.
Good luck Cougars; we'll be their cheering you to victory!
tell Max to get his colors straight. Throw to our guys, don't stare down his receivers, the safety will cheat over to Collie's side, and even though Unga isn't his best friend, he still should be thrown the ball more.
Good grief. Max had a bad game at Utah. I blame the offensive line at TCU. So what. He is a fine QB and I, for one, am very glad he is coming back next year. 10 and 2 three straigt years would have looked great in the 90s and early 2000s/ So let's enjoy this team. They are something we can be proud of in more ways than one.
5 wins of the last 6 games tell me that BYU is overdue to lose to a Pac-10 team. Arizona IS that team. Again, I have great respect for all my brothers on BYU, but the Wildcats win this one by 11. Also......Earlier on Saturday the Wildcat bball team takes on the UNLV bball team at the Thomas and Mack. Man......if I had the money I'd be at both! You all have a Merry Christmas and I'll post tommorow night. We'll see who has the clearest crystal ball.
Let's not forget that before going into that Utah games, Max had thrown 34 TD's and only 8 INT's. Ask any coach/sportscaster in College Football and they will tell you that is freakin' awesome! John Beck really started mastering the BYU offense in his Senior season. I expect the same from Max Hall next year.
Once again the BYU football team, no matter how lousy of a game trumps the undefeated basketball team in news coverage, who will be playing a ranked opponent the same day on the road. There was not one article on the basketball team this past week, while there has been maybe 10 on the football team. Where is the love for Coach Rose and the boys?!!
Arizona will beat BYU. They are faster and more athletic than the 2008 version of BYU. My prediction is Arizona 31 BYU 24.
BYU will finish the season 10-3 and Bronco will give some silly Steven Covey analysis of the season and that will be it for 08. I honestly think BYU peaked last season and will continue to slide into medocrity going forward. Bronco isn't the answer and his low key business approach would be better served in an accounting firm somewhere.
Arizona isn't even ranked and they are favored in the game? What does that say about BYU and its phony ranking? Honestly BYU isn't a good football team in 2008. They do have some good players in Pita, and Unga and Collie but that is about it. The team as a whole is soft and slow and is better at pre-game firesides than playing football.
The only JOKE is Utah after Bama destroys them in the first quarter.
