Bob in line | 3:46 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
As a Cougar, congrats to him and the Utes.

I hope we don't have a large number of BYU fans who post demeaning comments. If so, at least this one is not. Being named All-American is a pretty big deal and not the time to bash. Without him the Utes would not be 12-0.

I hope you do well against 'bama.

Congrats Louie!
A well deserved honour.

You will be dearly missed.
Look forward to seeing you play on Sundays.

Sakoda is a great kicker/punter and, from what I have heard, a great person as well. Not bad for being a walk-on. Congrats! Next year, he will be missed.

Congrats to king Louie. A well deserved honor!
Robbed | 7:55 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
He deserved the Lou Gorza and Ray Guy as well. Cougar fan giving credit where credit is due!

As a BYU fan I can appreciate the accomplishments of Ute players. Sakoda joins Eric Weddle as my all time favorite Ute players to watch play even if I am a Cougar fan.
Congrats Louie! | 8:23 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
We're going to miss King Louie. Truly a class act.
Congrats to Louie Louie! | 8:29 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
And thanks to the Cougar fans for the respectful kudos..

Also, congrats to Austin Collie for 2nd Team All-American. That's a great honor considering the talent this year at WR. As a Ute fan, I'm definitely hoping Collie is playing on Sundays next year instead of Saturdays!

What is most admirable to me is how Louie has lived up to and even exceeded expectations; following up great 2006 and 2007 seasons with an even better 2008.

Congratulations Louie!
Congratulations Louie! | 9:18 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
From a true blue Cougar fan.

The honor is well deserved! You are an awesome player! All the best! I'm sure we will be seeing you in the NFL!

Now that's a Quest for Perfection! Well done Sakoda. You're the best!
bergstro | 9:46 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Sakoda has done the impossible: he's made me stop leaving the room every time the Utes line up for a kick. After years of abysmal kicking failures, it is going to be hard to live without him! Congratulations!

BTW - from a Ute fan, Collie deserved to be there as well. Probably next year. Next year should be another good one for the MWC.
Thank you Cougars | 9:51 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Your comments here represent your team, your university and your religion (mine too) with class! Thanks and I hope you win Arizona!

Go Cougars | 10:06 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
And go Utes! Here's hoping you beat Alabama by 40 and get deserving votes for #1. Bust the BcS! Let's have a national playoff!
Utes will still lose | 10:31 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
You can pile on the accolades all you want, BUT UTAH IS STILL GOING TO LOSE TO ALABAMA.

Louie is trully of royal family - if he is not the undisputed king, he is surely a prince of a man. Thank you Louie for being a mentor for our son, the great role model for all student athletes, and all of those moments - unforgetable!!!! D&W
utah_man18 | 11:29 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
My only question is how can Louie be voted a consensus 1st team kicker and yet lose the Groza? I understand losing the Ray Guy because this wasn't his best punting year, but what's up? Oh, that's right, even the kicking game in the bcs conferences is superior to little old Utah.

Beat 'bama and shove it in the faces of all these national doubters.

Utah by 6
just play... | 11:59 a.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Good luck MWC Teams

Good to be the King! | 12:09 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Congrats Louie! Saw this coming in the Michigan game. You deserve it.
What a terrific year! Go get 'em Utes! Show Alabama (and remind the BCS) how we do it up in here the Mountains!
Go MWC! Go Utes, go Cougars, go TCU!
Dude | 1:13 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Congrats to Louie!!! Thats a great honor!!!!
funny | 1:31 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
they should give kickers soccer awards because they are not football players
MADRYBEG | 1:57 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Who knew a kicker would draw so much praise? GO KING LOUIE!!! Best of luck with all you do!
Congrats Louie! | 2:44 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Way to go King Louie! I still can't believe he didn't win either the Lou Groza award or Ray Guy award. How does an All-American not win his position award? Ridiculous voting. But here is your typical voter's mindset: "Let's give it to a BCS school kicker on an 8-4 team instead of non-BCS school that goes 12-0 because there is no way that the Non-BCS kicker is that good" What a joke!
Thanks for representing the UTES Louie! Good luck in New Orleans.
RE: Funny | 2:58 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Louie is more of a football player that you will ever be.
Hey Louie | 3:30 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
My step daughter is a Junior at the U. Her name is: (with held) She is the cutest girl on campus. I want you to marry her someday so when you're a wealthy man in the NFL I'll be, er, she'll be taken care of and we will get to travel to your games.

I hope to introduce you in 'Nawlins.

Go Utes, Go Louie!
congratulations | 4:59 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
but when utah lines up in new orleans there will be FOUR all-americans facing them.
and they aren't kickers.

(unless you count kicking-fanny)

(and don't forget the A-1)
JMT | 8:00 p.m. Dec. 17, 2008
Utah is not the best team in the nation though I highly doubt Alabama is going to push them around like Georgia did Hawaii last year.

Utah should play a pretty respectable game, and depending on how spoiled 'Bama is, may even beat them. I will add that Coach Sabin is not the kind to get smoked with overconfidence.

Utah should have a chance to win, will likely keep it very respectable and in any case, they won't get embarrassed.

And I'm a Cougar fan. SEC is good but don't get too overblown.
