Oh dear, so a jury in Chesapeake, has recommended a Virginia man spend 38 and a half years in prison, for killing a Mormon missionary and wounding another?. That's almost as bad as when the reason CBS cancelled Touched By an Angel was because of references to God on the show. If this were "such a bad killing" as the story read, than, why did not that Judge, give the killer life in prison, or capital punishment?. Perhaps the Judge did not care to much about the LDS missionary death saga / case than.
So a life is only worth 38 1/2 years to bad. h
he's 22 years old now. even if he served every single day of his sentence, he'll still be a fairly young man with lots of years ahead of him to enjoy life. absolutely not fair. he should serve 38 years for wounding the one missionary and life without parole for killing the other.
Should get life in prison, period.
This is bogus. 2 people were shot, not 1.
There is no such thing as a justice system in the United States, only a legal system.
Both the trial Judge and jury in Chesapeake that has recommended a Virginia man spend 38 and a half years in prison, for shooting one and killing another Mormon missionary for pounding on his door to loudly, will get their case over-turned and he will get a "full pardon" from Obama's pardon lawyer team, because Obama hates Mormon's to, and will prove, not only that under Obama there is no such thing as a justice system in the United States anymore, but he will flood the Federal Court's with all Judicial Activist Judges to. To bad, all you Utah Mormon's must already know that life is absolutely not fair, when a liberal is in charge. So, why do you than keep electing them than?.
Just why was the Jury of 12 all made up of your Utah liberal Gen Nexters, anti-Americans in the 18-25 age bracket, are not afraid to express themselves through their appearance and tattoos are the most popular form of self-expression, along with other nontraditional appearance-altering practices are also prevalent among Gen Nexters, dyed their hair an untraditional color, or had a body piercing in a place other than their ear lobe, and they were not a jury of his peer's, all missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints either.
When people (a Mormon missionary) take a moderate risk to enjoy life, why should that be settled in the court of law?.
"Madeline Murray O'Hare" seems to be advertising her own atheism by so prominently using this name, although not spelled the same as the (in)famous atheist of the same name. Why I can not tell but there are some things she might want to consider.
One, she might want to learn to spell if she wants to make an impression on others. ("To Bad" instead too bad and "than" instead of then).
Two, did I read this correctly? Utah "Mormons" are putting the liberals in charge! I must have misunderstood the commentators on election night who always predict Utah as a steadfast Republican state before the polls even open.
I am glad to see that she does belive in a prophet and that she is the prophet to predict that Obama will do all these things.
Oh wait a minute. I understand. She is just joking with us. Obviously these are not well thought out statements based on a knowledge of current events.
However, I must agree that 38.5 years does seem to be a bit lame and will end up shorter, even if Obama's federal lawyers have no authority to grant pardons in Virginia or any other courts.
My mistake and my apologies. A little more research on my part taught me that the real Madeline Murray O'Hare did spell her name this way.
Poor boy's. The Jury recommends 38 1/2 years in missionary death. The person we are when we depart this life is the person we will be as we enter the next. Thankfully, we do have Today. We really are immortal in the sense that Christ's Atonement conquers death, both physical and spiritual. And provided we have so lived Today that we have claim on the Atonement's cleansing grace, we will live forever with God. This life is not so much a time for getting and accumulating as it is a time for giving and becoming. Mortality is the battlefield upon which justice and mercy meet. But they need not meet as adversaries, for they are reconciled in the Atonement of Jesus Christ for all who wisely use Today.
This is sick, but not surprising at all. Our judicial system has nothing to do with justice. How depressing.

If you are going to recite the "Daily Gem" you received yesterday, you should at least give credit to its author. Plagerism is just wrong.
This is a very sad story. These things should NEVER NEVER happen.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOUNG MAN'S LIFE WAS WORTH ONLY 38 1/2 YEARS..... SOME DAY THE TRUE PUNISHMENT WILL COME...AT THE JUDGEMENT SEAT..HOPE I AM THERE TO WATCH REAL JUDGEMENT TAKE PLACE.
Calm down, folks. We don't know that the judge was biased against Mormons, that Obama hates Mormons, or any such thing. We don't know that another first degree murder conviction with different circumstances might have gotten a different sentence.
If Boughton shot the elders to eliminate witnesses to another crime he committed, he's already a poor excuse of a citizen and probably has a criminal history that will keep him from getting "good behavior" credit. He acted in haste and will have the opportunity to repent at leisure.
Has the coincidence escaped anyone's notice that 38 years is the exact amount of time Joseph Smith was given on earth?
Some people make the best of their mortal lives while others squander theirs and ruin others. Joseph Snith lived well, as did Morgan Young, and their deeds will be their memorial. James Boughton didn't, and his deeds will also be his memorial. He needs to be pitied rather than bashed.
