Too few 'wild and scenic' waterways in Utah, rivers council asserts

Utah's population is projected to double in the next 40 years according to the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget. If we place all of these rivers off-limits to water resource development, what will our children have to drink? Water is the life-blood of our economy. We are second most arid state. Think about it Mr. Danenhauer and Mr. Wilson. Use your talents and resources to do something productive rather that obstructive.

You can still drink from a wild river, basinboy; in fact it'll probably be healthier for you. You just can't put a dam on the "wild & scenic" stretch, but you can divert water from it downstream to feed cities and farms. Most of these USFS proposed segments were mountain segments far above the people who use the water below. The trifling number that were actually proposed shows a lack of appreciation for Utah's enviable position of still having gorgeous, pristine rivers.
