Didn't our government use tax payers money to help bring this lot to Utah -- maybe out tax dollars need to be kept in Utah in the future to take care of its own home grown businesses as for sure their loyalty is not to keep our people employed. Also, with hotel revenues being down where is the money coming from to help pay for the REAL stadium that tax payers never got to vote for?
We all know that the REAL stadium was actually built to house the soup kitchen that will be used to feed the poor schmucks that got taxed out of their homes to build it.
I hope these guys can find more work so they can pay their rent, but I don't know where they will find it. Maybe that $52M for the zoo and the aviary will provide some jobs.
Very well said "REAL deal!!!" Yeah, we have lots of money for the zoo and the aviary and a soccer stadium. Never mind if the Salt Lake police ask for more money and get voted down, we are sending it to the animals at the zoo. I am sorry for those losing their jobs at KraftMaid.
I am concerned for some people that I know who work for Kraftmaid. I hope they are able to land on their feet.
jr., I beleive the way the tax incentive worked was the state told Kraftmaid they would not have to pay as much in taxes if they set up shop here; I don't believe existing taxpayer funds were given to Kraftmaid. At least that's usually how it works. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
I didn't know Kraftmaid had a facility in PA, but ya the Utah plant idling is an unfortunate event, hopefully the economy will shift at some point here soon.....how about the employees who transferred from the Middlefield plant?
We Have bought Kraft(Krap) Maid cabinet 3 times. The first were the worst i"ve seen as a builder. They said it was a problem with new plant ,took 6 mo. to fix. Second not to bad. 2009 purchase the worst yet, do your self a favor,STAY AWAY from Kraft Maid the first,STAY AWAY!!!
