Isn't it such a shame that poor Flora will have to leave her media circus in the tent. That judge has an agenda most certainly.

I just want to cover a base or two for Flora but heck, I'm sure the media maven can spin the deposition to generate interest in her agenda.

Heaven help anyone that stares at the poor woman and everyone better keep their hands in sight or else Flora might suggest that they are reaching for recording devices. Whoops ......the purpose of a deposition is to record what she says.

Nice to see

It is nice to finally see Flora have to be accountable for how she has treated these people. If she really was involved, what a sad thing for one person to do to another(s). Just think of all the children that were affected by these actions. It just breaks my heart to think about what those little tiny children had to go through.

Grandpa Phil

I may not be much of a Warren Jeffs fan but some of this questioning has got to bring to light some good information about who is responsible for that raid. never been one to encourage conspiracy theories but there's more to all this than meets the eye.

Nice to see

It is nice to see Flora have to finanlly be accountable for how she has treated these people. If she really was involved, what a sad thing to see one person do to another. When children have to go through something dramatic like that at such a young age, it leaves scars that at so hard to overcome. My heart breaks for those teeny tiny children and what they had to endure over a hoax call.

Rita

As far as the media, what did Barbara do with her daughter? She wanted the media there to watch her daughter, so she would be the media star.
.
I think Flora should do the same thing the FLDS women did when they were supposed to testify.
They refused to answer questions, so she should not answer any questions either.

To Rita

It is discouraging that you don't want to see Flora accountable. Barbara had to defend herself for what she and her family were going though because of a hoax call (probably started by Flora). Flora wants her nice little friend from the media to stand by her side and give the "correct picture". Hmmmm....when you have to have the media stand by your side, I wonder what that says for what you have done?

If she did

indeed coach Swinton, this is surely important information and pertinent to the case. It certainly would explain how she had such accurate-sounding information, considering that she was in another state and has never had any contact with the FLDS or the ranch.

With every intention in the world of doing good, that raid harmed hundreds of innocent people, too. The old adage that you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs may be political philosophy, but it shouldn't be used to justify harming innocent people, even to try to bring about a good end.

re: Rita

Hahaha.

That'd be hilarious if Flora refused to answer questions. I doubt there would be a quicker way for the FLDS to get all the litigation against them thrown out of court--Arizona first, and then Texas later.

Oh yeh Rita...Barbara the media star. Gotta give give you the Flora spin award for that comment.

Seems that if Barbara organized the media event she blew it. Ole Barb was pillaried by the commentators for not being motherly enough....but hey.....Barb doesn't have Floras experience or flair. Could it be the dress and hairdo or just the company Barb keeps?

K

They went in there because of the calls.

They removed because they saw illegal activity once inside.

The dramatic thing is being married off under 18. The harm is going back to that environment.

Kevin

You polygamist men need to get a moral life and then you wont have so many troubles. Most women hate you guys for all your transgressions against god. These things wouldn't be happening to you people or with Flora or Swinton woman if you folks were living righteously. You bring this stuff to your own doorstep with your abusive life styles.

To K

Hmmm.....they didn't see illegal activity...they went in and took all the children out and then made their case. Where is "innocent until proven guilty" And, why is being married under 18 "dramatic"? All you have to do is look back into the 50 and the common marriage age for a girl was 16. If it is the environment you grow up in, you have what you need to deal with it. If the girl wants to be married, and her parents feel fine about it, why is that harmful....there are many girls today who get married younger than 18 in many states, the states even provide for it. So....please explain your logic.

They went in there based on a hoax from a nut.

They were removed in violation of the emminant danger requirement.

The harm for 402 children is nonexistant and harm for the others is still up in the air pending rulings on admissibility of what may be tainted evidence.

Gotta love those 18-37 year old pregnant teens.

Flora is a joke

What is Flora's problem, this is a serious issue and is she for helping the problem of underage girls getting married or what? Why is Rozita a person of interest and not a suspect for giving false information.

To Kevin

As a polygamist woman, I have to wonder why you, who don't apparently know much about polygamy choose to condem them men. If anyone should, it should be me (having lived with them). And, I choose not to. In my experience, the morals of a polygamist man outrank the morals of the "typical monogamist man"- who by the way, is out there cheating on his wife, not loving each of his flings as wives, or even caring about the children that develop from the fling. How can that possibly be more moral than a man who loves, nurturs, provides for and takes care of many wives and children?

st. george girl

To Kevin...I got quite a laugh out of your statement that polygamist men are nurturing, providing for and taking care of many wives and children. If that were truly the case then why are they first in line at the store with foodstamps and so learned in the ways to obtain and use medicaid. Don't try to tell me they deserve it. I have too many personal experiences of working with the fraudulent use of medicaid. Taking care of families? ha!ha! I know too many of your "men" that don't even know the names of all their children.

To St. George Girl

Oh, you do, do you....Roberta...if you actually pull up the statistics, you would find that the poligamist use foodstamps and medicaid at a significant percentage less than the average residents. I have done the studies and it is very evident that the polygamists have been victim of slander by their "EXes". And, another point, how many "monogamists" know over a hundred people from just daily lives (family, work, aquaintances, etc.) and can remember their names? Does it even follow logic that a polygamist Daddy would forget his children's names, someone he is in contact with on a regular basis.

Krista

I'm just curious...since it seems that most of the comments on this blog are from FLDS members...do most of the family relationships have one overbearing wife like Barbara Jessop? And if so, why do the other wives let it happen? That part is so interesting to me.

Krista

I do feel for many of the families that had to experience the raid and the sadness they felt being separated from their children. However, I cannot feel sorry for women like Barbara Jessop who allowed her 12 year old daughter to be married to Warren Jeffs. It's because of these choices that the rest of their church had to suffer. I do not believe that God would expect a young girl of that age to enter into a marriage.

Not FLDS but....

I really don't know of the FLDS being that way, but don't have that much to do with them. In my experience, each wive is viewed, valued, and respected as a wife. Each are appreciated for their individual talents and all the talents are used to create a valuable family. If there was an overbearing wife, their talents would be diminished, thus the family would be as well. I see my "junior" (for lack of a better word) sister as an equal and appreciate greatly her contributions to our family. And, if I saw other sisters "picking on" thier "juniors" (again, for lack of a better word, it seems aweful to me to refere to them as that) I would work to see those ladies respect eachother and help eachother out.
