Go away, Turley! | 12:38 p.m. Dec. 11, 2008
After reading the first sentence, I knew that the city council member in question had to be Steve Turley. Why doesn't he grow up and learn to work with others to make things work. The only way he gets attention is by spewing doubt, opposition and negativism. He's why I didn't vote for his wife last election.

Any, while I'm at it, why doesn't the media (desnews, in particular) ever show how well things are going? I'd leave to hear the positive side of this endeavor from the business, city and customer points-of-view. Get some unbiased news, for once.

When Provo ends up bankrupt then maybe you'll listen to people like Turley who understand that government should not be playing business.

The only people who look at these things are people who have been burned by the deal in one form or another. Turley wants to weasel his way into the political arena, stirring up as much mud as he can is the only way he can do that. Also, notice how on the news we don't see as much "happy" things, just this person got killed, this councilman is corrupt. If the news doesn't print things that make you get angry or raise your eyebrows, you wouldn't read it.
Love it! | 6:32 p.m. Dec. 12, 2008
I love all of this vitriol being thrown at Turley when Billings and Garlic are riding off into the sunset having all but destroyed the City of Provo. They too the iProvo idea and through their terrible management blunders and fiascos cost the city over 60 million dollars. Obviously they are the ones making these posts to keep someone off their trail of disaster! The city is in financial troubles and Billings just bought the Peaks Ice Arena. This is not a money-making venture this is costing the Cities hundreds of thousands if not millions. Not to mention that puts about 30 more employees on the city payroll. Billings gave away millions to Action Target a company that will at the very least in the long term benefit his own investments. The Mayor spends money while cutting all other department budgets. He has wasted a million dollars on the golf course, remember, spending money the City hasn't got yet and probably won't. For all you folks dog-piling on Turley why don't you quit propping up the crooks, Garlic and Billings, that got us Provo Citizens into this mess in the first place. They have destroyed Provo for decades!

We all would love to hear a positive side of this "endeavor" from Broadweave. The problem is, there is no positive side, if there were they would be sharing real numbers not bragging about all the new signups when the students are all getting back in town and only have that option at their complex. Duh! They have not shown any numbers publicly. Why, obviously because there are no positive numbers. Not when they are borrowing money back from the six million that is supposed to be "credit" to go back to Provo in the event they fail. They might as well start selling all the equipment and trucks Provo all but gave them to make their payments. Their next payment already is due so it will be interesting to see where this one comes from. Why is Billings, Garlick and Broadweave always blaming something or someone else for a failure? Because they see no beam (Redwood) in their own eye! They ran this thing into the ground costing the citizens 25 million on top of the 40 million bond and they still act as if they deserve their jobs. They should lose them NOW! Glad I left iProvo!
Always Interesting | 7:50 a.m. Dec. 13, 2008
I always find it interesting that word broke about Broadweave missing their payment weeks ago but it took Broadweave, Billings and Garlick this long to make up a good sales job of an excuse before going to the press with it. Why do these guys still have their jobs? Nothing like Mortgaging the future of the citizens of Provo even further! And Billings thinks he is going to win a fourth term? Why? Becuase of his forked tongue? I guess it worked the first three times. Apparently the citizens of Provo like sleeping with a snake.
