Exercise, healthy eating, achieving long-term goals, supporting friends through
difficult tasks, what kind of news is this? I loved it!!! Great
story--motivating and uplifting to read. A nice break from what seems to
dominate the newspapers. Keep up the good work!
I ran the Grand Slam this year as well. I have mixed emotions about running
again after this past year...how do you top PR after PR and running more in one
year than most do in their lives? My running group decided to include the Salt
Lake Marathon and having done TOU and StGeorge last year, I logged 8 marathons
in 13 months. It really changes your perspective in life. I was laid off from my
job right before St George '07, and facing unemployment and the attending
concerns became like facing those switchbacks making your way into Logan. You
have to just keep putting one foot in front of the other and rely on your
training. No other experience in life can teach you things like this. Everyone
should try a marathon at least once. Congratulations to you two for your
accomplishments!
Your articles about running marathons have been right on! I agree with you about
this years StGeorge marathon. I have never been so sore in my life. It
seemed like alot of us got pretty sore that day. You could see some pretty slow
movers in the resturants after the race. My family had a lot of fun picking out
which person was the runner in any group that walked in. It was very
entertaining:) I am interested in the huge age difference with your little
sister...but I'm glad you have found ways to bond!
