Way to go City Council, government with a heart? What a concept
Every year about this time it gets cold. It's predictable. Why is this an emergency -- every year? Why does the news media pander to these "heart felt" stories and investigate why this problem isn't dealt with in a calm, efficient manner BEFORE it gets cold and becomes and "emergency"? This is NOT news. Look at past "cold emergency years" and you will find this happens almost EVERY year. The media in this town refuses to ask tough questions or do anything beyond reporting EXACTLY what the council wants in the public eye. Let's dig and find out why our ELECTED officials cannot deal with this in ADVANCE. Folks, this is NOT and emegency! Poor reporting! Get in our elected officials faces and get tough! That's what reporting is all about -- not just pandering to the council!
NOw, exactly how many square feet does the LDS Conference Center take up? Any chance the vacant spaces within this arena could be put to use, since it seems to be only utilized as any other church or temple, that being for a few minute' minutes of the day, while being vacant for more than a few freezing hours throughout these SLC nights. Truly interesting that with all the mention of organizations within this article, there was not even a thought to assistance from such a mighty real estate organization as that church, as it is.
