I've attended some of his readings before, and everytime I go I get something new out of it! Initially, he seems like an old hippie, but once he gets going and the rest of the crowd gets into the poetry, you realize that there is some definite genius behind his work.

I have never heard any American/English speaking person manipulate our language in such a way. It's fascinating!

I don't know why people were giving him such a hard time... Maybe having more of an open mind would help??

"It's creating writing." Obviously it is. And if an English graduate from UVU said something as obvious as this, well, why would you report it? Of course it's creative writing. And it's much more complex, experimental, and dangerous than anything Shel Silverstein ever wrote.

Alex Caldiero is actually Artist in Residence in the Humanities Program at UVU, not in the Integrated Studies program. We are very proud that he is with us. His work is opening all kinds of doors on campus.
