Doesn't surprise me. The Campbells have always been able to sense trouble. Great grandmother used to take off on horseback to deliver babies or help with medical problems before there were phones or telegraphs. We have always helped others. Good job Gabriel!
It is so nice to read a story with an ending like this one. we just don't hear to many like this any more. Good kid and nice people that were rescues also. Makes me feel good.
Perhaps this is also a good opportunity to remind the readers that the guidelines of the Safety Afloat training program do not only apply to Boy Scouts and are invaluable in preparing for activities on the water to help prevent this kind of incident or mitigate the effects when it does happen.
In addition, as of January 1, 2009 a new requirement for the use of BSA tour permits includes Hazardous Weather training which, like Safety Afloat and other training topics, is available on line.
Thank you so much for a good news message. We need more of those!
