wood burning fire places? No, I don't think so. And playing off dental care for poor kids with air quality monitoring was a cheap comment - the Dept of Enviro Quality director shouldn't have to stoop like that no matter what point he wants to make.
Fact of the matter is news is getting out that the soot from industrial activity in the Salt Lake Valley and points west are filling up the Salt Lake Valley AND getting over the mountains. If they're affecting Summit County, then no doubt they're affecting Wasatch and Morgan too, but unless testing is done there, the public will be left in the dark.
I'd like to see our state be a bit more sensitive and proactive to protecting people's health throughout the state. Robust economic growth starts with good health and a decent environment, and they need to appreciate that the public understands this.
